Press Shop Tooling Supervisor - Australian Company in Binh Duong

• Press Tool setting in accordance with the production schedule.

• Press Tool setting to ensure parts produced are to relevant quality standards.

• Ensure Press Tools are inspected for “First Off” inspection compliance and ensure that at the end of production run and any maintenance issues are reported for appropriate action.

• Ensure the Press tools are cleaned and stored in the designated areas. Ensure the Presses are maintained in “as-new” condition and all presses/tools and associated guarding are in “working order.”

• Maintain a team based environment in which to manage the operation of the Cell by providing leadership and coaching to the employees of the Cell.

• To maintain levels of competent, well trained employees who are multi-skilled in the operations of the Cell.

• To assist in the training of operators and provide a succession plan of die setters

• Ensure materials and storage containers are readily available at each workstation for safe and efficient operation.

• Contribute to the elimination of quality defects, equipment downtime, scrap and rework, and process incapacities to meet required specifications.

• To introduce succession planning and job rotation to provide a multi-skilled workforce.

• To set and maintain a high standard of housekeeping which reflects the pride and ownership of the Press Cell employees.

• To provide a safe environment in which employees of the Press Cell can work without fear of harm or injury.

• To maintain the expenses of the Press Cell within the agreed budget levels.

• To ensure all items of plant and equipment of the cell are maintained in a safe and efficient manner.

• To liaise with the Inventory Manager, Purchasing Officers, Integrated Systems Manager and any other contacts to ensure Parts are provided efficiently, safely, on-time and of good quality.

• To ensure line balancing and minimization of stock levels, both raw materials, sub assemblies, to finished parts.

Quality Responsibilities

• To ensure that products are produced in accordance with the requirements of the ISO9001 quality assurance system.

• To initiate action to prevent the occurrence of product non conformance.

• Identify and record any product quality problems.

• Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.

• To assist the Integrated Systems Manager in the development of Standard/Safe Operating Procedures, Preventative Maintenance schedules.

• Control further processing, delivery or installation of non-conforming products/service/machine until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.

Safety, Health & Environmental Responsibilities

• To carry out Press Guard Inspections and undertake Preventative Maintenance plans.

• To develop strategies for the Monitoring and Minimization of Safety Risk /Environment.

• Liaise with Government Authorities in the area of Safety / Environment as required.

• Ensure Workforce is appropriately trained.

• Ensure the handling and storage of Wastes, Oils and Lubricants are stored in designated spill containment areas.

• Aid the Integrated Systems Manager to develop Environmental and Safety Procedures that are an extension of Rheem’s SHE Procedures.

• Conduct Internal Audits and recommend remedial actions.

• Provide Monthly management reports

• Trade qualifications in a manufacturing or engineering environment, preferred.

• Minimum 8 years Press Tool & Die Setting experience, with comprehensive knowledge of press tool design fundamentals.

• “Hands-On” experience with general heavy industrial equipment including pneumatics and hydraulics.

• Interaction with the departments engineering, maintenance, quality, planning or purchasing, is an advantage with a minimum of 10 year experience in a Supervisory Position.

• Good motivation skills, sound communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.

• Working knowledge ISO9001 quality management system requirements.

• Experience/knowledge from developing and implementing programs with identifiable results using the following:

• kaizen continuous improvement

• lean manufacturing

• just in time

• value stream analysis

• supply chain management

• Show good understanding of the OHS regulatory requirements.

• High personal standards, keenness to ‘walk the talk’ and lead by example.

• A welding trade background, or exposure to a number of different manufacturing environments with different processes and products would be an advantage. This can be achieved either within one diversified Company or a variety of Companies. Specific experience in the auto manufacturing & component industries, welding industries, or whitegoods manufacture would be an advantage.
