Plant Director - Head Of Manufacturing

Our client is a foreign-owned, Vietnam-based startup currently operating in stealth mode. The company is building a next-generation humanoid robotics manufacturing business, with a new production facility being established in Hai Phong, Vietnam.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Head of Manufacturing (Plant Director) to lead the establishment and operation of a greenfield manufacturing facility in Hai Phong. This is a rare opportunity to build a factory and play a critical role in one of Vietnam's most advanced manufacturing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the entire manufacturing operation, from incoming quality control to final assembly, testing, packaging, and export activities.

• Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and industrialization by converting engineering releases into scalable manufacturing processes, fixtures, work instructions, and cost targets.

• Establish the plant operating system, including production planning, capacity management, traceability, yield improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Develop and execute production ramp-up plans and component localization strategies in collaboration with supply chain and quality teams.

• Build and develop a high-performing engineering and production organization.

• Manage plant budget, capital expenditure, and manufacturing cost performance.

• Take full ownership of quality, delivery, and operational performance for every product shipped.

• Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or related disciplines.

• Minimum 10 years of experience in electronics, automotive, EV, precision machinery, or advanced manufacturing environments.

• Proven track record of leading plant operations or large manufacturing value streams.

• Demonstrated experience taking complex electromechanical products from NPI stage to mass production.

• Strong knowledge of manufacturing systems, industrialization processes, and structured problem-solving methodologies.

• Experience with quality systems such as ISO 9001; experience in IATF 16949 environments is highly preferred.

• Advanced English communication skills are required.

• Mandarin capability is a strong advantage.

• Experience in greenfield projects, factory setup, or production transfer projects is highly preferred.
