Outsourcing Technical & Production Manager

Position Overview

This position is responsible for full-cycle production tracking of apparel orders allocated by the planner to designated outsourced subcontractor factories. The incumbent will monitor garment workmanship, guide on-site technical improvement, and act as a key communication bridge among internal departments, external suppliers, on-site colleagues and cross-border management teams. This role requires commercial thinking rather than pure technical judgment to control production risks, stabilize supplier cooperation, and ensure all orders are delivered with qualified quality and on-time schedule.

Key Responsibilities

1. Factory Technical Guidance & Process Standardization

• Provide professional technical training for outsourced factories to align with buyer standards and company workmanship requirements.

• Conduct on-site supervision on sewing procedures and garment construction, deliver actionable optimization and corrective solutions throughout production.

• Analyze patterns and fabric properties to customize pre-production workflows and mitigate technical risks.

• Clarify technical feedback to factory teams to minimize workmanship non-conformities.

2. Pre-production Sample Control & Factory Readiness Check

• Oversee PP sample development in strict compliance with approved measurement and construction standards.

• Collaborate with merchandising and QA teams to resolve sample defects and confirm final technical solutions.

3. Full-process Production Monitoring & Progress Follow-up

• Track end-to-end production procedures include cutting, sewing, finishing and packing.

• Monitor daily output and line efficiency to identify bottlenecks, delays and quality hazards.

• Submit escalation reports and follow corrective actions to ensure on-time shipment.

4. Stakeholder Communication & Supplier Relationship Management

• Align production standards among internal teams, QC inspectors and external factory management.

• Adjust communication approaches for different factory personnel to ensure clear requirement delivery and smooth execution.

• Maintain stable, constructive partnerships with subcontractors to sustain a healthy supplier ecosystem.

5. Reporting & Documentation Management

• Prepare daily production reports and factory visit reports, synchronize production status to cross-border management.

• Sort out production records, technical adjustment documents and rectification files for internal review.

1. Working Experience

• 3 to 5 years of working experience in apparel production, technical supervision or factory follow-up role.

• Rich experience cooperating with outsourced subcontractor factories is mandatory.

• Familiar with international apparel order flow, including PPS review and PP sample confirmation process.

2. Professional Skill

• Solid knowledge of garment construction, sewing craftsmanship, fabric characteristics and mass production logic.

• Able to read tech packs, measurement charts and buyer comments accurately.

• Proficient in basic Excel for data statistics and daily report making.

3. Language Ability

• Workable written and oral English. Able to communicate clearly with on-site staff and cross-border management teams to accurately express production issues, technical adjustments and risk suggestions.

• Good command of Vietnamese, able to communicate fluently with local factory staff in Vietnamese for efficient daily coordination and on-site work alignment.

4. Comprehensive Competencies

• Strong communication & expression ability: Flexible in expression logic, able to deliver unified requirements to different factory personnel and gain acceptance smoothly.

• Risk assessment & commercial thinking: Judge production issues from commercial perspective, balance quality, cost and delivery reasonably.

• On-site problem-solving ability: Coordinate factories and QC teams to handle sudden on-site production problems efficiently.

• Interpersonal management skill: Maintain stable and positive cooperation with multiple outsourced factories.

• High pressure resistance & adaptability: Accept frequent business trips to different factories, adapt to busy production seasons.
