Maintenance Supervisor (Mechanical & Structural)

1. Position Objective

Responsible for planning and coordinating manpower and resources to execute Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Work Orders (WO); directly inspecting, analyzing, and troubleshooting complex mechanical and hydraulic faults on Ship-to-Shore (STS) cranes and cargo handling equipment (spreaders, grab buckets, Lifting beams, Hoppers), ensuring all equipment is maintained in optimal condition for operations.

2. Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Manpower Coordination & Maintenance Management

o Plan and monitor schedules for routine mechanical maintenance of STS cranes, spreaders, grab buckets, and other cargo handling equipment.

o Assign tasks and allocate maintenance resources based on the Preventive Maintenance (PM) plan and active Work Orders (WO).

• Inspection & Technical Repair

o Conduct routine inspections on equipment status before, after, and during crane operations to timely detect potential hazards or defects.

o Directly troubleshoot and repair minor to highly complex mechanical faults such as

1) Hydraulic systems and hydraulic parts

2) Machinery (Drive motor, brake, speed reducer, couplings, wheel, sheave, shaft, bearing, bearing covers etc.)

3) Disassembly, assembly and alignment of the speed reducer, motor and Brakes

4) Replacement, lubrication and inspection of Wire ropes

5) Automatic grease lubrication system

• Performance Improvement: Research, propose, and implement equipment improvement initiatives to optimize operational productivity and enhance equipment safety.

• Spare Parts Management: Monitor and control the mechanical spare parts inventory; generate reports and issue purchase Requisitions for replacements as required.

• Safety, Technical Training & Reporting:

o Supervise occupational safety standards during shifts; organize routine or ad-hoc safety toolbox meetings and training sessions whenever maintenance safety issues arise, sharing troubleshooting experiences with the team.

o Instruct and provide technical training to enhance the maintenance skills of mechanical technicians and operators.

o Manage equipment technical profiles and documentation; accurately and comprehensively update repair and replacement logs.

o Prepare and submit operational status reports, maintenance logs, and incident reports in accordance with company regulations.
