ABOUT THE POSITION

The Learning Technology & AI Systems Officer owns the day-to-day operation of VinUniversity’s educational technology, survey, AI, and other technology platforms, and provides first-line support to faculty and teaching assistants.


The role also leads the technical evaluation and piloting of new AI integrations in support of VinUniversity’s priorities to transform teaching and learning.


The position sits within the Center for Education Quality Management’s (CEQM) wider quality assurance remit. The systems this role administers (such as Canvas LMS, course evaluation surveys, course and program learning outcomes assessment, examination integrity, and micro-credentials) generate much of the evidence base for VinUniversity’s quality assurance, accreditation, and outcomes-based education processes. Accuracy, timeliness, and careful handling of the underlying data are therefore central to the role.


REPORTING LINE: Reports to the Director, Center for Education Quality Management. Works in close collaboration with the Senior Education Technology Officer.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Learning Platform Administration and Support

• Administer VinUniversity’s educational technology platforms, particularly Canvas, including system configuration, integrations, user access, enrolment management, and troubleshooting.

• Maintain platform reliability through routine checks, updates, incident handling, and coordination with IT teams and external vendors.

• Manage Program Learning Outcomes assessment on digital platforms, including setup, data validation, reporting, and related documentation.

• Provide first-line support, operational reports, usage data, and recommendations to support platform improvement, renewal, or retirement decisions.


2. Assessment, Evaluation, and Survey Systems

• Support administration of the survey platform, including data collection, preparation, and clean-up, setup, distribution, response-rate monitoring, and reporting cycles.

• Provide technical support to examination systems, processes, and tools.

• Handle course evaluation, student, and assessment data in accordance with VinUniversity’s data protection, privacy, and records retention policies, applying appropriate access controls, anonymization, and confidentiality safeguards.


3. AI Integration and Enablement

• Conduct technical evaluation, development, piloting, and maintenance of AI tools for teaching and learning, in support of CEQM’s implementation priorities.

• Assess AI and educational technology tools for data security, privacy, and compliance implications prior to adoption, escalating identified risks as appropriate.

• Maintain documentation, user guides, and a knowledge base covering approved AI tools for faculty and teaching assistant use.

• Serve as CEQM’s technical point of contact with the central IT AI taskforce and other university AI initiatives, supporting the Senior Education Technology Officer.

• Bachelor’s degree in education, information technology, computer science, information systems, educational technology, or a related field.

• Minimum 3 years of experience administering Canvas or a comparable learning management system, preferably in a higher education setting.

• Demonstrated experience with system configuration, user and enrolment management, integrations, and structured troubleshooting.

• Strong data skills. Experience with data visualization is desirable.

• A clear understanding of data security and privacy.

• Practical, current experience with generative AI tools.

• Experience coordinating with software vendors and internal IT teams.

• A service-oriented mindset: responsive, patient, and focused on resolving problems for non-technical users.

• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

• High level of accuracy, organization, and deadline management, with the ability to work independently across concurrent operational cycles.
