UpBase is building an end-to-end E-commerce ecosystem that helps businesses scale revenue and optimize operations through technology.

Our ecosystem includes OMS, WMS, CRM, Omnichannel, AI and automation products serving thousands of merchants and brands. As data becomes a strategic asset across every product and business function, we are looking for a Head of Data to build the foundation, capabilities and culture that enable data-driven decision making at scale.

What You'll Do

Define and drive data strategy

• Build and execute the company-wide data roadmap aligned with business and product objectives.
• Establish data governance, data quality and data ownership frameworks.
• Identify opportunities to leverage data for growth, operational excellence and customer success.

Build modern data platforms and capabilities

• Design and scale the company's data architecture, including data warehouse, pipelines and analytics infrastructure.
• Establish reliable, secure and scalable data engineering practices.

Enable business intelligence and advanced analytics

• Partner with Product, Operations, Finance and Business teams to define key metrics and reporting frameworks.
• Deliver actionable insights that support strategic and operational decisions.

Build and mentor the Data team

• Recruit, mentor and develop high-performing Data Engineers, Analysts and Analytics Engineers.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance.
• Foster a culture of ownership, experimentation and continuous improvement.

Required

• 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Business Intelligence or related fields, 2 years of team management
• Proven experience building and scaling modern data platforms in production environments.
• Strong expertise in data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehousing and analytics systems.
• Excellent SQL and Python skills.
• Experience establishing data governance, quality and security standards.
• Strong system design and architecture capabilities.
• Experience leading, mentoring or managing technical teams.
• Ability to connect data initiatives with business objectives and measurable outcomes.

Nice to Have

• Experience in SaaS, E-commerce or platform businesses.
• Experience working with AI, Machine Learning or modern analytics solutions.
• Familiarity with real-time data processing and event-driven architectures.
• Experience implementing self-service analytics platforms.
• Strong understanding of product metrics, customer analytics and growth frameworks.
