Global Supplier Quality Engineer (8-month contract)

Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) will be a major part of Global Supplier Quality and Global Procurement Team. As a member of this team, you will be shaping the future of Datalogic’s success in company’s supply chain.

ROLE MISSION

As a SQE, you will manage all vendors in South Asia Region & will be responsible for all company’s global sister manufacturing plants. By liaising and coordinating with Global Functional Departments (Operation Quality, Production, Sourcing, Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, R&D,…) the major roles are not only Sourcing/ Supplier scouting, supplier’s performance management & supplier’s evaluation/ qualification, but also day-to-day quality issues troubleshooting in order to support Manufacturing Plants worldwide.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supplier Quality Engineering:

• Supplier quality routine: Day-to-day jobs to resolve the quality issues with suppliers.

• VCAR (Vendor Corrective Action Request) management: Follow the process flow to work with internal production team and suppliers to process & close the VCAR/ 8D report.

• Monitor and maintain Claim Rating, PPM & VCAR/ Cost of poor quality (COPQ).

• Periodic audit/ visit suppliers to check their process capability & QMS; maintain & improve supplier performance; maintain & build the relationship with suppliers.

• Develop suppliers technical, quality and process capabilities, drive technical scouting of new suppliers and new technologies.

• Developing new suppliers, search & select/ qualify suppliers in Vietnam & South Asia Countries.

• Qualification new materials: follow the qualification process & PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) implement with suppliers; liaise with Commodity Managers, Q&R, Operation Quality, Manufacturing Engineering & R&D to complete & close the qualification process.

• PPAP implementation: Be responsible for the PPAP implement process in all regions: EU, US, North Asia and South Asia.

• Working closely with R&D and Global Project Buyer & Sourcing team to support for New Product Development or localization projects.

Business Performance:

• Weekly/ monthly, internal/ external reports: Claim Rating, PPM, VCAR, PPAP, COPQ, Personal projects, hot issues with local team and global team.

• Golden samples & document control: Manage golden samples warehouse, send golden samples & Part Submission Warrant (PSW) to suppliers.

• VN localization support: Support to collect localization updates from all Asia CMs and SQEs.

Others:

• Perform special projects or assignments as required by management.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electric-Electronics engineering, Mechatronics engineering, Industrial engineering, Automation technology.

• Language: Fluent English; written and verbal communication

• Experience: 1-2 years of experience for SQE, QA, or related fields

• Others:

Have experience in using ERP/ SAP is a plus.

Good knowledge in technical drawing, plastic injection & metal manufacturing processes.

Good computer skills: Word, Excel, Power Point, CAD (Creo/ Windchill is a plus).
