General Accountant

The General Accountant - Finance position supports the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of CapitaLand Development (Vietnam)’s financial reporting and compliance obligations. The role covers statutory accounting, tax compliance, group reporting support, and cash management under VAS and IFRS / Singapore FRS, with an emphasis on disciplined execution, data accuracy, and continuous process improvement. The specific legal entities and scope of responsibilities under this role will be assigned and adjusted by the Supervisor from time to time, in accordance with business and operational requirements.

Key Accountabilities:

Financial Accounting & Month End Close

• Maintain complete and accurate accounting records under VAS and IFRS / Singapore FRS

• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year end closing activities, including account breakdowns and reconciliations

• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules for audit and management review

• Ensure completeness and accuracy of journal entries, accruals, and provisions

Tax & Statutory Compliance

• Prepare, reconcile, and submit VAT, WHT, and Corporate Income Tax (CIT) filings

• Track tax payments and manage Personal Income Tax (PIT) declarations

• Perform invoice checking to ensure compliance with Vietnamese tax regulations

• Coordinate with tax authorities as required

Group Reporting & Consolidation Team Support

• Support monthly consolidation for Vietnam entities (actuals, forecast, budget)

• Assist in preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting packs for Consolidation team

• Perform variance analysis and provide input for management commentary

Cashflow, Treasury and Project Monitoring

• Perform bank reconciliations and prepare cash and cash position reports

• Support preparation of cash flow forecasts and rolling forecasts, reconciling costs with related departments, tracking project progress

• Monitor cash movements and support working capital controls

• Support cost control and basic variance analysis

Systems, Analytics & Process Discipline

• Use Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, models) and PowerPoint for reporting

• Apply VBA, data analytics, and AI enabled tools to improve efficiency and data quality

• Perform accounting and reporting activities in SAP (where applicable)

• Support finance process improvements and standardisation initiatives

Others

• Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis as requested by Chief Accountant or Consolidation team

• Support cross functional finance coordination when required

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent

• 4–6 years of relevant experience in accounting and financial reporting

• Hands on experience with VAS; exposure to IFRS / Singapore FRS preferred

• Experience supporting audits and group reporting environments is advantageous

Technical Skills

• Solid understanding of financial accounting, reconciliations, and Vietnamese tax regulations

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

• Exposure to VBA, data analytics, or AI tools is an advantage

• SAP experience is preferred
