Garment Merchandiser

I. POSITION SUMMARY

The Merchandising Manager is responsible for leading key communication among Buyers, Vendors, internal cross-functional teams, and factories, while overseeing the entire merchandising process from PPD, PD, Sampling, Bulk Production, Test, through to Shipment.

This is not a task-level execution role. This position serves as a managerial role responsible for leading the Merchandising team, assigning work, managing timelines, making issue-based decisions, handling risks, and driving key operational decisions.

In addition, this role requires strong costing capability, including costing calculation, cost breakdown analysis, margin management, cost negotiation, and understanding of CM, Fabric, and Garment Cost.

II. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead Merchandising team members and manage order assignments and work progress.

• Oversee the full merchandising process, including PPD, PD, Sampling, Bulk Production, Test, and Shipment.

• Lead communication with Buyers, Vendors, TD, Fabric Sourcing, Production, QC, Factories, and other related parties.

• Review and manage key work progress related to BOM, Samples, Centric/ERP, PO, TNA, Production Status, and Shipment Status.

• Manage costing-related tasks, including cost calculation, cost breakdown review, margin control, cost negotiation, and analysis of CM, Fabric, and Garment Cost.

• Identify root causes of schedule delays, quality issues, Buyer claims, production risks, and costing issues, and determine appropriate solutions.

• Monitor the accuracy, priorities, and deadline compliance of tasks handled by team members.

• Support timely decision-making through internal coordination and management reporting when major issues arise.

• Manage workflow improvement and enhance team operational efficiency.

III. REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience: 10–15 years of experience in Garment Merchandising, at least 2 years of team-leading experience at Senior Lead or Manager level.

• Strong understanding of garment Pre-production, Sampling, Bulk Production, Test, and Shipment processes

• Strong costing knowledge, including cost calculation, cost breakdown analysis, margin management, cost negotiation, CM, Fabric Cost, and Garment Cost

• Experience using ERP, Centric, and global Buyer portal systems

• Strong English communication skills for professional communication with Buyers and Vendors

• Strong leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, negotiation, and time-management skills

• Ability to manage multiple orders and team members simultaneously, while making accurate decisions and taking proper action under high-pressure situations
