Fleet Supervisor

1. Position Purpose

The Fleet Supervisor is responsible for overseeing fleet operations, driver management, and transport assets to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant transportation activities. This role is accountable for optimizing fleet utilization, controlling operational costs, and enhancing overall service quality to meet business objectives and customer expectations.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise drivers, including recruitment, onboarding, training, work assignment, performance evaluation, discipline management, attendance tracking, and payroll-related support such as allowances and incentive calculations.

• Maintain driver records, driving licenses, and professional certifications while ensuring compliance with traffic regulations, HSE standards, alcohol and substance testing requirements, and company policies.

• Manage tractor trucks, trailers, and transport assets; oversee vehicle maintenance, repairs, inspections, registrations, insurance, and ensure fleet readiness for daily operations.

• Monitor fuel consumption, tyre usage, GPS devices, fuel cards, and other fleet assets to prevent loss, misuse, and optimize operating costs.

• Track fleet utilization, on-time delivery (OTD), and operational productivity while coordinating with Dispatch, Maintenance, HSE, and other relevant departments to resolve operational issues.

• Supervise and evaluate transport contractors, outsourced drivers, and service providers to ensure service quality, safety, and contractual compliance.

• Prepare operational reports, analyze fleet performance and operating costs, and recommend continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fleet efficiency and service quality.

3. Scope of Management

• Manage approximately 50 container tractor trucks, drivers, and related transport assets.

• Work closely with Dispatch, Maintenance, HSE, HR, and transport partners to ensure safe, efficient, and customer-oriented fleet operations.

• Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Management, or related fields.

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in fleet management, container trucking, or logistics operations.

• Strong leadership, people management, operational coordination, and problem-solving skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and fleet management systems (TMS/GPS).

• Good understanding of fleet management, road safety regulations, HSE requirements, and transport-related laws.

• Strong communication skills, analytical mindset, and high sense of responsibility.
