Finance & Tax Specialist

* Purpose & general responsibilities of the position:

JTT LOGISTICS VIETNAM is an international import/export logistics and freight forwarding company, expanding its presence in Southeast Asia. Our new Vietnam branch will serve as a key hub for regional and global supply chain operations, requiring a dedicated Finance & Tax Specialist to ensure compliance and efficiency in our financial operations in Vietnam.

The Finance & Tax Specialist will be responsible for managing the company’s financial accounting, tax compliance, and reporting in accordance with Vietnamese regulations. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong knowledge of local tax laws, financial systems, and cross-border financial operations.

* Specific responsibilities of the position:

1. Financial Accounting & Reporting:

• Maintain accurate and timely accounting records in compliance with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS).

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations and Vietnam e-invoice issuance & incoming invoice verification management.

• Support budget preparation, financial forecasting, and cash flow management.

2. Tax Compliance & Planning:

• Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns (e.g., VAT, Corporate Income Tax, Withholding Tax, etc.) per Vietnamese tax regulations.

• Stay updated on changes in Vietnamese tax laws and advise the management on implications and optimization strategies.

• Liaise with tax authorities, handle tax audits, and resolve tax-related issues.

• Manage tax incentives and exemptions applicable to international logistics and import/export operations.

3. Regulatory & Compliance:

• Ensure adherence to Vietnamese company law, financial regulations, and statutory requirements.

• Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and legal advisors as needed.

• Assist in obtaining necessary business licenses and permits related to finance and taxation.

4. Cross-border Financial Operations:

• Oversee financial transactions related to import/export activities, including customs duties, international payments, and currency exchange.

• Ensure compliance with cross-border taxation and transfer pricing regulations.

5. System & Process Improvement:

• Implement and optimize financial systems and internal controls.

• Provide training to local staff on finance and tax procedures.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Taxation, or a related field.

• Professional certification (VACPA is preferred; Brevet A/B, CPA or equivalent certification as plus).

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in finance and tax role, priority for candidates with working experience in Vietnam-based international logistics/forwarding/import & export multinational enterprises.

• In-depth knowledge of Vietnamese tax laws, accounting standards, and compliance requirements.

• Proficiency with local accounting software (e.g., MISA, FAST) and/or global ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Odoo).

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication skills in English and Vietnamese; proficiency in Mandarin is a plus to liaise with headquarters.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment.

• Business-oriented mindset, capable of translating complex finance & tax requirements into actionable business procedures.
