Position Summary
The Demand Forecast Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and communicating demand forecasts for all finished goods, accessories, replacement parts, and service components. This role serves as the primary link between Sales, Operations, Purchasing, and key suppliers to ensure accurate demand planning, inventory optimization, and on-time product availability. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with business acumen to identify demand trends, improve forecast accuracy, and proactively manage supply risks. This position will also support supplier management activities, including forecast sharing, inventory planning, lead time management, and supplier performance monitoring.

Key Responsibilities
Demand Planning & Forecasting
• Develop and maintain rolling 12-month demand forecasts for:
o Standard product lines
o Accessories and attachments
o Service and replacement parts
o New product introductions
• Analyze historical sales, bookings, backlog, seasonality, market trends, and business initiatives to improve forecast accuracy.
• Partner with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and Operations to collect and incorporate demand assumptions.
• Facilitate monthly demand review meetings and forecast consensus processes.
• Identify forecast risks and opportunities and communicate impacts to leadership.
• Monitor forecast accuracy and bias, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Create forecasting models and dashboards to support planning decisions.
Inventory & Supply Planning Support
• Work with Purchasing and Operations to translate demand forecasts into supply requirements.
• Recommend inventory targets, safety stock levels, and reorder strategies.
• Identify potential shortages, excess inventory, and obsolescence risks.
• Support inventory reduction initiatives while maintaining service levels.
Supplier Forecasting & Management
• Share demand forecasts with key suppliers and contract manufacturers.
• Conduct regular forecast reviews with strategic suppliers.
• Monitor supplier capacity, lead times, and supply constraints.
• Collaborate with suppliers to improve responsiveness and reduce supply chain risk.
• Track supplier performance metrics including:
o On-time delivery
o Lead time adherence
o Forecast consumption
o Capacity commitments
• Support sourcing decisions and supplier development initiatives.
Reporting & Analysis
• Develop monthly forecast reporting packages for leadership.
• Track key demand planning KPIs and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Analyze demand drivers, product mix shifts, and market trends.
• Support annual budgeting and strategic planning processes with forecast data.
• Maintain forecasting and planning data within ERP and reporting systems.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Act as the primary facilitator of the Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) demand review process.
• Partner with Sales to understand upcoming opportunities, large projects, and market changes.
• Collaborate with Purchasing and Manufacturing to balance customer demand with operational capacity.
• Support new product launch planning and end-of-life product transitions.
Education
• Bachel

Education
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, Finance, Statistics, Engineering, or related field.
Experience
• 3–7 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, supply chain, purchasing, inventory management, or related disciplines.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience working with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics preferred.
Skills & Competencies
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, Power Query, and forecasting tools.
• Understanding of inventory planning concepts including:
• Safety stock
• Reorder points
• Lead times
• Inventory turns
• Ability to interpret sales trends and convert them into actionable forecasts.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
