About the role

We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our dynamic innovation team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data infrastructure while also developing AI-enabled applications and intelligent workflows. This role combines strong data engineering foundations with hands-on AI development to support chatbot solutions, RAG pipelines, Knowledge Graph systems, advanced analytics, and enterprise automation initiatives aligned with cloud platforms, governance requirements, and innovation priorities.

Key responsibilities

1. Design and implement scalable data architectures, including Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, and Knowledge Graph systems (e.g., Azure Cosmos DB, Neo4j).

2. Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, standardize, and prepare structured and unstructured data for analytics and AI workloads.

3. Build, deploy, and optimize AI-powered applications such as chatbots, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solutions, and intelligent document processing workflows.

4. Develop and integrate backend services, APIs, and orchestration components to connect AI models, enterprise data sources, and business applications.

5. Build and optimize data processing workflows to ensure data quality, integrity, observability, and performance across end-to-end solutions.

6. Integrate data across multiple sources (e.g., PDF, Excel, Word, databases, APIs) to support analytics, automation, and AI use cases.

7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., AI, Software Development, Data, and Business teams) to deliver scalable, secure, and business-aligned digital solutions.

8. Support cloud-based data and AI platforms, including deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement within enterprise development environments.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• 1+ years of hands-on experience in AI development, data engineering, backend development, or a related role.

• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for application development, data processing, and pipeline implementation.

• Experience in developing APIs, backend services, or microservices to support data and AI solutions.

• Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT processes, data pipeline design, and working with both structured and unstructured data.

• Exposure to AI/ML concepts and practical experience with LLM applications, RAG pipelines, or intelligent automation solutions is highly preferred.

• Experience with cloud-based platforms and services (Azure ecosystem preferred), including data, storage, and application services.

• Familiarity with Knowledge Graph technologies, vector search, or enterprise search architectures is a strong advantage.

• Experience using version control systems (GitHub) and working in collaborative development environments.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and business stakeholders.

• Willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute in enterprise-grade development, data, and AI environments.

Preferred Certifications & Tools

• Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or Azure Data Engineer Associate / Azure AI Engineer Associate certifications

• GitHub Foundations or hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

• Experience working with unstructured data, document processing, NLP pipelines, or intelligent content extraction

• Exposure to LLM frameworks, prompt orchestration, vector databases, or RAG-based architectures

• Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance requirements in enterprise environments
