Automation Engineer

Position Overview

The Kaizen Engineer supports Engineering and Manufacturing by accelerating automation equipment startup, finalizing equipment and process specifications earlier, eliminating project delays, and driving CAPEX execution for production line automation. The position also promotes continuous cost reduction, develops and evaluates new improvement themes, and drives Arrow improving activities through issue identification, challenge analysis, testing, and implementation of countermeasures.

Job Functions

• Plan, coordinate, and follow up automation equipment startup activities to support timely CAPEX execution.

• Work with Engineering, Manufacturing, Maintenance and related teams to finalize equipment, process, and workstation specifications earlier.

• Identify project risks, bottlenecks, and delay factors; propose and implement practical countermeasures.

• Create, assess, and prioritize Kaizen themes related to productivity, quality, yield, cost reduction, safety, and automation.

• Drive ACP’s products improvement activities by collecting data, analyzing issues, conducting tests, reviewing results, and standardizing effective countermeasures.

• Prepare or update work instructions, installation instructions, layouts, standard conditions, and training materials when improvement activities require changes.

• Support manufacturing on engineering and technical issues, especially those related to automation, equipment layout, tooling, processing, and workstation improvement.

• Monitor quality, scrap, productivity, and cost-related data, then coordinate corrective actions with relevant departments.

• Train operators or related staff on new processes, modified equipment, work instructions, and Kaizen standards.

• Report progress, issues, test results, and improvement effectiveness to management in a timely and structured manner.

• Perform other related duties as negotiated or assigned to meet ongoing business needs.

• University

• University degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Automation, Industrial Engineering, Technical, Polytechnic, or a related field.

• 3 to 5 years of experience in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Kaizen, Automation, Process Improvement, or a related manufacturing role.

• Experience in a foreign-owned manufacturing company is preferred.

• Good written and spoken English; able to communicate with cross-functional teams and prepare clear reports.

• Good computer skills; AutoCAD is required/preferred and AI tools, SolidWorks, or other mechanical design software are advantages.

• Strong analytical, reporting, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.

• Practical understanding of production processes, tooling, equipment layout, workstations, molding, extrusion, assembly, or related manufacturing operations.

• Experience in graphite / carbon fiber products such as golf, arrow, tennis, or hockey products is an advantage.
