Warehouse Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for managing inventory accuracy, warehouse material control, kitting operations, material availability, and inventory optimization to ensure uninterrupted production. This role works closely with Planning, Purchasing, Warehouse, Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure materials are available at the right quantity, right time, and right location while maintaining high inventory accuracy and minimizing excess or obsolete inventory.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Inventory Control & Inventory Accuracy

• Lead and manage all inventory control activities across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.

• Maintain inventory accuracy targets of 98-99% or above.

• Oversee cycle counts, annual physical inventory, and inventory reconciliation processes.

• Investigate inventory discrepancies and drive corrective actions.

• Monitor and manage slow-moving, excess, obsolete, and non-conforming inventory.

• Ensure proper inventory transaction discipline within ERP/WMS systems.

2. Materials Management & Production Support

• Ensure timely material availability to support production schedules.

• Manage material staging, material allocation, and material replenishment activities.

• Coordinate closely with Planning, Production, Purchasing, Engineering, and Quality teams.

• Monitor material shortages and proactively drive resolution actions.

• Ensure proper control of lot traceability, serial tracking, and date-code management.

• Support production continuity by preventing material-related downtime.

3. Kitting & Production Readiness

• Lead all kitting operations to ensure complete and accurate kits are released to production.

• Ensure right part numbers, correct revisions, quantities, lot numbers, and date codes.

• Develop and improve kitting processes and controls.

• Monitor kit readiness performance and production material availability.

• Implement systems to ensure 100% kit readiness before production release whenever possible.

• Drive continuous improvements in kitting efficiency and material flow.

4. ERP, WMS & System Management

• Ensure accurate inventory and material transactions within ERP/WMS systems.

• Act as key user for warehouse and material management modules.

• Drive process compliance related to inventory and material movement.

• Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders on system enhancements.

• Utilize system reports and dashboards to support operational decision-making.

• Lead inventory and warehouse data integrity initiatives.

Preferred systems experience:

• SAP (MM, WM, EWM)

• Oracle

• Microsoft Dynamics 365

• Other Warehouse Management Systems

5. Planning & Material Flow Optimization

• Partner with Production Planning teams to ensure material readiness aligns with production schedules.

• Monitor material consumption trends and inventory levels.

• Optimize warehouse-to-production material flow.

• Implement FIFO, FEFO, Kanban, and replenishment strategies where applicable.

• Support capacity planning and inventory optimization initiatives.

5. Process Improvement

• Develop and standardize SOPs for inventory and kitting operations.

• Lead Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement projects.

• Improve warehouse productivity and inventory accuracy through automation and digitalization.

• Support ERP/MRP system enhancement initiatives.

6. Team Leadership & People Management

• Lead, coach, and develop inventory control and kitting teams.

• Manage supervisors, team leaders, and warehouse personnel.

• Establish performance goals and KPIs for the team.

• Conduct training and competency development activities.

• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

7. Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, kit readiness, and operational efficiency.

• Drive Lean, 5S, Kaizen, and process improvement initiatives.

• Reduce inventory variances, material shortages, and production disruptions.

• Improve inventory visibility and transaction accuracy through system and process enhancements.

8. Compliance & Audit

• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 13485 (if applicable), IPC standards, and customer requirements.

• Support internal, external, and customer audits.

• Ensure compliance with company inventory policies and financial controls.

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related fields.

2. Experience

• Minimum 5-10 years of experience in Supply Chain, Warehouse, Inventory Control, Material Management, Warehouse Operations, or Production Materials Control.

• Minimum 3 years in in a managerial position.

• Experience within EMS, Electronics Manufacturing, Semiconductor, Automotive Electronics, Medical Devices, or related manufacturing environments preferred.

• Strong knowledge of electronic components and manufacturing material flow.

3. Technical Skills:

• Production Material Flow

- Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, JDE, Microsoft Dynamics, Epicor, or equivalent).

- Advanced Excel skills.

- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kanban, FIFO, JIT, Pull System.

- Experience with barcode/RFID warehouse management is preferred.
