JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for compliance management, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of all data, documents & formalities to be complied with company policy, international trade and local regulations.
MAIN DUTIES
1. Serves as subject matter expert and internal consultant on overall licensing and export and import process, regulatory requirements, and evaluation of risk.
2. Acts as a point of escalation for any trade compliance-related inquiries or issues and provide timely and effective resolutions.
3. Architect the selection of Certificate of Origin using advanced origin criteria (WO, RVC, CC, CTH, CTSH) to maximize duty-saving opportunities under active FTAs.
4. Liaise with government agencies and foreign counterparts to resolve trade related issues/ challenges.
5. Providing expertise on import-export policies, tax structures, and HS code determination.
6. Formulating and securing import/export licenses, permits, and regulatory approvals from government authorities.
7. Establish mandatory gatekeeping mechanisms to review, validate, and sign off on all global trade flows against cross-border compliance laws.
8. Coordinate with external parties, such as government agencies and third-party service providers, to ensure compliance with all trade regulations.
9. Engineer and deploy robust internal compliance systems to proactively detect, mitigate, and eliminate regulatory violation risks before execution.
10. Establish comprehensive customs SOPs, build centralized classification databases, and enforce rigorous record-keeping protocols for regulatory audit readiness.
11. Manage customs broker and freight forwarder governance, including due diligence, onboarding, KPI/SLA scorecards, performance reviews, business reviews, and corrective actions covering declaration accuracy, clearance lead time, response time, document quality, amendment rate, and customs query handling.
12. Manage post-clearance compliance, internal review, voluntary amendment preparation, customs-authority responses, and annual customs finalization review on classification, valuation, origin, and import-export tax treatment.
13. Conduct systematic internal trade audits, identify systemic operational vulnerabilities, and execute corrective and preventive action (CAPA) strategies.
14. Monitor and assess changes in trade laws and regulations and communicate any updates to the appropriate team members.
15. Develop and maintain a deep understanding of all relevant trade compliance laws and regulations, including but not limited to import/export laws, customs regulations, and trade sanctions.
16. Work closely with internal departments, such as legal, finance, and operations, to ensure compliance with all trade regulations and laws.
17. Provides guidance and training to program and export compliance personnel on International & Government regulations and company policy (e.g., parts classifications, HTS codes identification, FTAs, CTPAT).
18. Review and approve all international trade transactions to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
19. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all trade compliance activities and transactions.
20. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement trade compliance policies and procedures.
21. Stay updated on any changes in the company's global operations and adjust trade compliance strategies accordingly.
22. Promote a culture of ethical and legal compliance within the organization.
23. Carry out other tasks assigned by department head.
24. Adhere Company Safety Rules.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Interacting with customs agencies to resolve regulatory and transactional questions involving export issues; reports suspected shortfalls in compliance and works on internal investigations as requested.
2. Investigating and resolving compliance potential issues and to respond to questions from internal or customer and government regulatory agencies.
3. Plans, develops, recommends, and implements training, procedures, and systems to be used for import & export compliance.
Yêu cầu công việc
Must-have Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Law, or related disciplines.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Trade Compliance, Import/Export Compliance, Customs, or Regulatory Affairs.
• Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs laws, import/export controls, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience managing customs brokers and freight forwarding partners.
• Proven experience conducting compliance audits and risk assessments.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and reporting tools.
Nice-to-have Requirements
• Experience in Manufacturing, Aerospace, Automotive, Electronics, or Industrial sectors.
• Knowledge of FTAs, HTS classification, CTPAT, and global trade programs.
• Experience leading compliance transformation or governance improvement initiatives.
