Solar & BESS Design Engineer

I. ROLE:

The Solar & BESS Design / Electrical Engineer is responsible for performing design, engineering,

and technical review activities for rooftop solar (RTS) and BESS projects.

The role focuses on system design, performance analysis, and technical coordination to ensure

projects are optimized in terms of efficiency, cost, and compliance with applicable standards

throughout the project lifecycle.

II. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct site surveys and collect technical data for solar and BESS projects

• Develop system designs including Single Line Diagram (SLD), layout drawings, and

technical documentation

• Perform preliminary design and integration of BESS systems

• Conduct energy yield simulations using PVsyst software or equivalent tools

• Review and verify Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) design documents, Bill

of Quantities (BOQ), and technical submissions

• Optimize system design to improve performance, reduce cost, and ensure safety

• Coordinate with internal teams, EPC contractors, and stakeholders

• Prepare technical reports related to design, simulation, and system performance

Education

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related fields

Experience

- Minimum 2 years of experience in solar Photovoltaic (PV) system design or renewable energy projects

Skills Technical Skills

- Proficient in AutoCAD, PVsyst, and relevant design/simulation tools

- Good understanding of International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), National Electrical Code (NEC), and Vietnamese standards/regulations

- Ability to review technical drawings, BOQ, and engineering documentation

Language

- Ability to read and understand technical documents in English

Soft Skills

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Good communication and coordination abilities

- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in C&I rooftop or utility-scale solar projects

- Experience with BESS systems is an advantage
