Senior Android Test Automation Engineer (Kotlin / Verification Lead)

We are expanding our automotive software verification team to cover Android-based in-vehicle platforms (AAOS/IVI). You will build and lead Kotlin-based test automation frameworks for a global automotive client project. A key aspect of this role is serving as a Technical Lead & Mentor, helping existing C-based verification engineers transition into modern Kotlin-based test automation.
Responsibilities
- Design and architect scalable test automation frameworks for Android/AAOS applications (JUnit 5, MockK, Espresso, UI Automator).
- Define overall test automation strategy, coverage goals, and quality gate criteria for the project.
- Set up, maintain, and optimize Gradle-based CI/CD test pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
- Review test plans and test code to ensure high standards of maintainability and reliability.
- Act as a Technical Mentor/Lead to guide C-based verification engineers transitioning to Kotlin and modern automation practices.
- Communicate directly with overseas client teams in English (technical discussions, issue tracking, and documentation).

3+ years of experience in Android software development or Android test automation.
Strong proficiency in Kotlin, including deeply understanding and testing Coroutines and Asynchronous flows.
Hands-on experience with JUnit, MockK (or Mockito), and at least one UI automation framework (Espresso / UI Automator).
Experience with Gradle and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions).
Familiarity with Android System logs (logcat, ADB, dumpsys) for issue triage.
Fluent in English for technical meetings and documentation.
Nice to Have
Hands-on experience with Android Automotive OS (AAOS) or In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems.
Knowledge of automotive quality standards (ISO 26262, ASPICE).
Strong track record of mentoring junior engineers or leading technical transitions.
Experience configuring static analysis tools (detekt, ktlint, SonarQube).
