Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist

The Quality Assurance Supervisor is the one who:

• Responsible for the implementation and management of the company’s product QA Program, including providing technical support for factories and product development team members for ongoing projects:

• Performing product evaluations and assessments during different phases of the development process to ensure product are designed properly and will meet and/or exceed all international safety regulations and testing standards (EU and US).

• Performing risk assessments on products during all phases of development and production; and will provide recommendations on how to avoid any safety issues and will manage any necessary corrective action plans needing to be implemented.

• Responsible for reviewing individual product lab tests , as well as managing and overseeing all on-going 3rd party lab testing and will inform the product development team and management of any issues and how to address each issue.

• Work closely with each factory and will be the main liaison between the company’s global cross-functional teams (Brand, Design, Marketing, Engineering, Quality, Packaging, etc.), in order to properly manage product development from concept through final production, as it relates to Compliance and Regulatory requirements.

• Able to operate in a highly dynamic CPG environment, by exercising considerable judgment in employing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for successful results. Travel to factories and some international travel is required (35%).

• Proficiency and a Strong knowledge of the Toy industry’s international safety standards, including CPSIA, ASTM, EN71, Canada, AU…is a MUST!;

• Good understanding of Physical/Chemical standards for US, EU, Canada, AU…and other countries;

• 2+ years of working experience in a QA role within the Toy industry, and/or at least 3+ year’s experience in a management level position in a testing lab or a 3rd party lab working experience is preferred;

• Solid experience working with global and international retail and toy companies such as: Walmart, Target, Toys R Us, Hasbro, Mattel… and familiar with the relative requirements for each company;

• Experience with manufacturing / buying office / trading office is preferred;

• Experience with injection/blow molding; different types of plastic materials; manufacturing, and/or engineering costs for durable goods;

• Skills in/or other relevant tools to manage end-to-end development;

• Can Speak, Read, & Write English

• Proficient in G Suite and Microsoft Office

• Proactive thinker and problem solver, a self-starter, excellent team player

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
