Packaging Development Supervisor

Manage the day-to-day activities of a team of researchers. Activities may include devising research methods; setting up laboratory test equipment; building models and prototypes; calculating and analyzing test results; preparing technical documents; and designing prototypes.
Ensure that packaging products meet requirements and specifications by validating packaging materials and finished packages through factory performance testing (real-time, lab-based, ship tests, and technology transfer).
Network with current and potential suppliers (meet suppliers, understand their role in project execution) to provide technical guidance on new materials and equipment. Conduct vendor assessments for quality system checks and drive necessary improvements at their end.
Execute multidisciplinary packaging development projects in response to given briefs within the network.
Develop and build sustainable capability for R&D packaging resources.
Perform other tasks assigned by the Senior Packaging Development Manager.
University degree in Packaging or a related field.
Strong understanding and experience in packaging converting technologies.
Minimum 5 years of experience in R&D Packaging (Food/Beverage).
Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
Expertise in packaging technologies and execution processes. Knowledge of can technology or carton box packaging is an advantage.
Proficiency in packaging engineering software (e.g., CAD).
Analytical mindset, demonstrating a clear approach to problem-solving using appropriate tools.
Strong teamwork skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapt to changing priorities, and work independently with limited supervision.
Effective communication skills to address issues with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including Marketing, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams.
