1. POSITION OBJECTIVE

Support and coordinate with the Mold Manager in implementing and supervising Mold Workshop activities, including new mold manufacturing, mold repair, improvement, and maintenance.

Ensure that all work is carried out according to plan and meets required schedules, quality standards, and technical requirements.

This position requires strong hands-on experience in CNC machining, CAD/CAM, technical drawing interpretation, and mold manufacturing.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate with the Mold Manager to implement the daily and weekly work plans for the Mold Workshop.

• Operate and troubleshoot technical issues related to CNC milling machines, lathes, and Wire Cut EDM machines.

• Use CAD/CAM software effectively for design and CNC machining programming.

• Read and understand 2D/3D technical drawings, tolerances, surface roughness, materials, and assembly requirements.

• Assign and supervise the work of CNC, Wire Cut, turning, milling, grinding, and mold assembly personnel.

• Monitor work progress, quality, and mold condition, and report any issues to the Mold Manager.

• Provide hands-on technical guidance and support to workshop employees during machining operations.

• Review CAM programs, toolpaths, cutting tools, workholding/setups, and machining sequences.

• Understand the complete mold process, including manufacturing, assembly, mold trials, repair, improvement, and maintenance.

• Manage workshop machinery, cutting tools, fixtures, measuring instruments, and equipment.

• Maintain 5S, occupational safety, and workplace discipline in the Mold Workshop.

• Coordinate with Production, Casting, R&D/Design, QC, Maintenance, and other related departments to resolve technical issues.

• Report work progress, quality, machine conditions, breakdowns, and technical issues to the Mold Manager.

3. REQUIREMENTS

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Precision Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical machining and/or mold manufacturing.

• Experience in supervising or managing a machining workshop or mold workshop.

• Candidates with experience in the following areas are preferred:

• Sand Casting Molds / Patterns

• Die Casting Molds

• Plastic Injection Molds

• Precision Machining

Knowledge and Skills

• Hands-on experience with CNC milling machines, lathes, and Wire Cut EDM machines.

• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and CNC machining programming.

• Experience with Creo, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Mastercam, Fusion 360, or equivalent software is preferred.

• Strong ability to read and understand 2D/3D technical drawings.

• Good knowledge of mold manufacturing, repair, and maintenance processes.

• Ability to plan, assign, coordinate, and supervise workshop activities.

• Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Responsible, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

4. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to candidates with strong hands-on technical capabilities in a workshop environment who can directly support and guide employees in solving issues related to CNC machining, CAM programming, and mold manufacturing.

The ideal candidate should also be capable of effectively translating the Mold Manager’s plans and requirements into practical workshop activities and ensuring successful execution.
