Lead Accountant

Role Purpose

The Lead Accountant will serve as our most senior finance professional in Vietnam during our current phase of market expansion. This individual will take full operational ownership of the local finance function, managing end-to-end accounting, statutory reporting, tax compliance, and local cash flow management. This is a foundational leadership position; as the Vietnam entity scales, this role is positioned to transition into a broader regional finance leadership track.

Key Responsibilities

- Statutory Compliance: Act as the legally registered Chief Accountant for the Vietnam entity, ensuring all financial practices comply with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS) and local corporate law.

- Financial Reporting & Consolidations: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Convert local VAS accounts into International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for seamless consolidation into global board reports.

- Tax & Audit Management: Lead all tax planning, filings, and compliance structures (including CIT, VAT, PIT). Act as the primary point of contact for local tax bureaus and external audit partners.

- Operational Finance: Manage budgets, payroll execution, accounts payable/receivable, cash flow forecasting, and local banking relationships.

- Strategic Advisory: Partner directly with global leadership to provide localized cost analysis, budgeting frameworks, and financial modelling to support sustainable scaling.

Mandatory Certification:

- Must hold a valid, legally active Chief Accountant Certificate issued by the Ministry of Finance, Vietnam.

- An active CPA Vietnam or ACCA qualification is highly advantageous.

Experience:

- Minimum 7 years of progressive corporate accounting experience. Experience leading an Accounting function is essential. Hands-on experience in a fast-growing foreign-invested enterprise (FIE).

- Language Fluency: Excellent, fluent business English (both written and spoken) for direct global board reporting. C1/C2 level English is essential.

- Systems: Proficiency in Xero and strategic thinking in terms of system improvements and impossible migrations to products that better suits our needs.
