Landscape Design Assistant Manager

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Landscape Assistant Design Manager for a 2-year contract position (possibility of extension or permanent role based on project requirement and performance) to oversee the planning, design, and execution of landscape projects across our real estate developments. The ideal candidate will combine creative vision with technical expertise to create sustainable, aesthetically pleasing outdoor spaces that enhance property value and user experience.

Key responsibilities :

Pre-construction stage

• Design management : Manage the landscape design consultant, lead the conceptual design and development of landscape for multiple phase of project. (residential and commercial)

• Desgin Coordination : Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure design integration and design intent.

• Technical Guidance : Review and validate design proposals, technical submissions, landscape specification & maintenance procedure, and construction methodologies from consultants and contractors.

• Quality Assurance: High level review for deliverable in different phase of project before submission to authorities or issuing to contractors.

• Budget management : Assist QS team/ CM team for technical input, scope of works, techincal requirements… during preparation of cost plan / cost variation / tender package/ tender evaluation. Safeguard developer's interests in technical decision-making and value engineering.

• Risk management : Evaluate technical risks and propose mitigation strategies during design, authorites submission, and construction. Be able to prepare technical report/ comparision to reflect such issues/ strategies proposal to high level management.

• Cross functional team coordination for resolving various points with Strategy, Costing, Projects, Marketing, Contracting, Procurement etc.

During construction stage

• Compare and review between construction drawing and detailed drawing for approval shop drawing

• Management for construction schedule and management for Construction Administration (authorship supervision)

• Manage for design changes and history

• Assess and approve technical variations and claim

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture or related field.

• 7+ years of experience in landscape design, with at least 4 years in consultancy company

• Fluent English speaking & writing is a must.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other relevant design software

• Strong knowledge of plants, materials, maintenance and sustainable landscape practices

• Experience with large-scale development projects

• Understanding of countryside and environmental regulations

• Skills in budget development, expense tracking, and financial management for landscaping projects

Technical Competencies:

• Strong design aesthetic and attention to detail

• Ability to analyze landscape development plans for accuracy, appropriateness, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

• Experience with : soil management, pest control, green roof technologies, permeable paving system, smart irrigation controllers, native plant communities, tree protection and preservation methods, water harvesting system…

• Environmental awareness and sustainability focus

• Thorough knowledge of ecological principles and their relationship to environmental planning and design.
