Role Overview
- We are building a centralized digital asset exchange (CEX). Detailed project information will be shared during the hiring process in line with our confidentiality requirements.
- A UI prototype is already in place; the next priority is to design and build the technical infrastructure that is ready for real production operations.
- We are looking for 01 hands-on Tech Lead who has personally developed and operated a live CEX system. You will work directly with the founder to shape the core architecture, agree on the scope of technical decision-making, and lead a lean engineering team that safeguards the operational quality of the exchange.
Responsibilities
- Review the existing prototype and business requirements; define the overall technical architecture, a phased development roadmap, and clear acceptance criteria for each delivery milestone.
- Personally design, code, and review the critical modules: account management, ledger, balances, order placement/cancellation/matching, trade settlement, fees, transaction history, and admin/operational tools.
- Assess build vs. integrate for the matching engine, custody solution, and liquidity providers, with an objective analysis of operating cost, security risk, and maintainability.
- Design and integrate wallet infrastructure and on-chain deposit/withdrawal flows with idempotency on retried requests, network failure handling, safe recovery, and multi-layer balance reconciliation.
- Work closely with frontend to finalize APIs, WebSocket, and real-time market data flows; deliver features such as staking, launchpad, trading bots, or referral according to the agreed roadmap.
- Set engineering standards: CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring and alerting, backup and recovery, audit logs, and access control. Run technical and security reviews against agreed criteria before releasing any feature that touches real assets.
- Assign work, review code, mentor team members, support hiring, and proactively remove technical bottlenecks.
- Join incident response on an agreed on-call rotation; run root-cause post-mortems and implement preventive fixes.

Requirements:
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience; flexible based on demonstrated technical depth and proven results.
- Required: hands-on experience developing and operating at least one core module of a CEX with real users and real trading volume - order management/matching, ledger/settlement, or wallet/deposit/withdrawal. Clear understanding of the end-to-end data flow and able to describe in detail the parts you personally owned.
- Solid grasp of ACID database transactions, concurrency, idempotency, monetary precision and rounding rules, data consistency, and balance reconciliation processes.
- Strong in at least one high-performance backend language: Go, Java, TypeScript/Node.js, Rust, or equivalent; experience with SQL databases, caching (Redis), message queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ), and real-time WebSocket.
- Experience deploying and operating in production, monitoring resources, and handling live incidents; solid understanding of access control, separation of duties, and secure protection of signing keys.
- Experience leading a small team or acting as a module lead, with code review and technical mentoring experience. Senior Engineers with a strong hands-on track record who are ready to step up to a Lead role are welcome.
- Able to read English technical documentation; communicates clearly about architecture, technical risks, and progress.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of the TON blockchain, the Jetton standard, or experience developing Telegram Mini Apps (TMA).
- Experience integrating liquidity providers (LP), market makers (MM), or institutional custody solutions.
- Experience with stress testing, disaster recovery drills, or participation in security audit processes.
- Startup product mindset, effective use of AI engineering tools, and proactive verification of code quality.
