Position Overview

The Future Leader - Quality Director is a strategic leadership development role designed to build the next generation of Quality Executives for VinFast's global manufacturing operations. The position is responsible for developing and driving product quality excellence across the entire vehicle lifecycle, including supplier quality, manufacturing quality, customer quality, and quality systems. Through close collaboration with executive leadership and global manufacturing teams, the incumbent will lead quality transformation initiatives, strengthen organizational capabilities, and ensure world-class quality performance aligned with VinFast's growth ambitions. This role requires strong technical expertise, business acumen, and global leadership potential to ultimately assume a Quality Director position within VinFast's international operations.

Position Responsibilities

Quality Strategy & Governance

Develop and execute company-wide quality strategies aligned with business objectives and global automotive standards.

Establish and maintain an effective Quality Management System (QMS) across automotive and e-scooter operations.

Serve as a key advisor to executive leadership on quality performance, risks, and improvement opportunities.

Product & Manufacturing Quality

Lead quality planning and quality assurance activities throughout product development, industrialization, and mass production.

Drive manufacturing quality performance through robust process controls, quality audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Ensure customer expectations for product quality, reliability, and safety are consistently achieved.

Supplier Quality Management

Develop supplier quality strategies and governance models.

Ensure supplier readiness and quality performance for new product launches and ongoing production.

Lead supplier quality issue resolution and escalation management processes.

Customer Quality & Problem Resolution

Lead investigation and resolution of internal and external quality concerns using structured problem-solving methodologies.

Monitor field quality indicators, warranty performance, and customer feedback to drive corrective actions.

Establish proactive quality improvement programs to reduce defects and improve customer satisfaction.

Organization Developmentin

Build a high-performing quality organization with strong technical and leadership capabilities.

Develop succession pipelines and leadership talent within the Quality function.

Promote VinGroup values, compliance, and continuous improvement culture.

Operational Excellence

Drive quality cost optimization and operational efficiency initiatives.

Lead cross-functional quality improvement projects across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Service organizations.

Qualifications

- Experience in global automotive OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers. Master's degree or MBA is a plus

- Strong expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Manufacturing Quality, Design Engineering, Process Engineering, or Continuous Improvement.

- Experience in vehicle launch and new product introduction is preferred.

- Fluent English communication.

Leadership Experience

- Minimum 15 years of experience in automotive quality, engineering, manufacturing, or related disciplines.

- Minimum 8-10 years in senior leadership positions (Senior Manager/Director Level)

- Experience leading large-scale Quality organizations (500+ employees preferred).

- Proven experience working with global OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers.

Technical Expertise

- Deep understanding of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, 8D, VDA, and CQI methodologies.

- Strong knowledge of automotive manufacturing and assembly processes.

- Proven experience in new vehicle launches, ramp-up, and mass production quality management.

- Strong root cause analysis and structured problem-solving capability.

Business & Leadership Capabilities

- Demonstrated ability to influence executive leadership and manage senior stakeholders.

- Strong business acumen and data-driven decision-making capability.

- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
