- Design, plan, and deliver high-quality Physical Education lessons across MYP and DP levels that are engaging, inclusive, and aligned with IB philosophy and school-wide learning principles.
- Develop and implement a coherent, well-sequenced PE curriculum that reflects best practice in health, movement, and physical literacy, ensuring continuity and progression across year groups.
- Embed IB approaches to teaching and learning — including Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills, inquiry-based methods, and formative and summative assessment strategies — consistently across all PE units.
- Utilise data from assessments to inform planning and provide timely, meaningful feedback to students that supports growth, reflection, and self-regulation.
- Teach a range of physical disciplines including swimming, basketball, football, athletics, and other activities as appropriate to the school's programme, maintaining high standards of safety and student welfare at all times.
- Plan, coordinate, and lead school sports events, inter-house competitions, sports days, and extra-curricular activities (ASA programme), fostering a culture of participation, teamwork, and healthy competition.
- Collaborate actively with colleagues across subject areas and programmes to support curriculum integration, cross-disciplinary connections, and whole-school learning initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, assessment data, and teaching documentation in accordance with school policies and IB requirements.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, wellbeing, and participation, including attendance at parent-teacher conferences and written reports.
- Participate in swimming lessons as assigned.
- Participate actively in the school's professional learning community, attending team meetings, professional development sessions, and collaborative planning as directed.
- Manage and maintain PE facilities, equipment, and resources responsibly, ensuring a safe and well-organised learning environment.
- Support the pastoral and co-curricular life of the school, contributing to school events, trips, and community activities as required.
- Undertake any other reasonable professional duties assigned by the MYP Coordinator or Head of School in support of school goals and student outcomes.
- Prepare lesson plans, develop assessments and examinations, and assess and mark students' work in accordance with the School's academic requirements.
- Complete student comments, assessments, and end-of-year report cards in accordance with the School's policies and procedures.
- Review and sign class record books, printed report cards, electronic grade reports, and electronic report cards in accordance with the School's policies and procedures.
Yêu cầu công việc
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related discipline.
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) preferred.
- Holds a swimming coach certification or relevant professional qualification, along with water safety and lifesaving skills.
- Minimum 2 years’ teaching experience, with preference given to candidates from international or bilingual school settings.
- Demonstrated experience organising and leading inter-school or intra-school sporting events.
