Chief Accountant

Job Purpose

The Chief Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing all accounting and financial activities of the company, ensuring compliance with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS), tax regulations, and internal policies. This role provides accurate financial information and strategic financial analysis to support management decision-making and sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting Management

• Establish, implement, and continuously improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal control systems.

• Review and approve accounting entries, financial transactions, and supporting documents.

• Ensure proper maintenance and storage of accounting records in compliance with regulations.

• Monitor compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.

2. Financial Reporting

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

• Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reports.

• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support business decisions.

3. Tax Compliance

• Oversee tax declarations, filings, and payments in accordance with Vietnamese regulations.

• Coordinate tax audits and inspections with relevant authorities.

• Keep management updated on changes in tax regulations and accounting standards.

• Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.

4. Cash Flow & Budget Management

• Monitor and manage the company's cash flow.

• Develop and control annual budgets and financial plans.

• Analyze variances between actual and budgeted results.

Education

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or a related field.

• Chief Accountant Certificate (required in accordance with Vietnamese regulations).

Experience

• Minimum 4–5 years of accounting experience.

• At least 2 years of experience as a Chief Accountant or Accounting Manager.

• Mandatory experience in Logistics, Freight Forwarding, Transportation, Shipping, Warehousing, Supply Chain, or Import-Export companies.

• Experience working in multinational companies is an advantage.

Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS), tax regulations, and financial reporting.

• Solid understanding of logistics business operations, freight costing, and service revenue recognition.

• Experience with Misa AMIS and other accounting software.

Skills

• Strong leadership and people management skills.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
