Job Overview

MCGAAW is looking for a fresh Automotive Application Engineer to support automotive diagnostic tools, Non-OBD products, hardware testing, application validation, and technical documentation.

This position is suitable for fresh graduates or final-year students in Automotive Engineering, Automotive Technology, Automotive Electrical-Electronic Systems, or related fields.

The candidate does not need to be an expert from the beginning. However, the candidate should have a good automotive foundation, basic understanding of vehicle electrical/electronic systems, and the ability to learn product testing and diagnostic tool applications quickly.

Key Responsibilities

• Support testing and validation of automotive diagnostic tools and Non-OBD products

• Test functions related to DMM, voltage measurement, resistance measurement, current measurement, Scopemeter, Min/Max, AutoRange, OTA update, firmware update, and app connection

• Support testing of DS201, DM200, DM300, RSPRO App, Education Simulation Kit, and related product applications

• Read product documents, function descriptions, diagrams, and test requirements, then explain them clearly in your own words

• Create and update test plans, test cases, issue reports, release notes, and technical notes

• Reproduce product issues and report clearly with test condition, steps to reproduce, expected result, and actual result

• Support basic hardware checking such as connector, wiring, power supply, ground, signal, component, test board, and measurement result

• Use or learn to use DMM, oscilloscope, power supply, test board, scan tool, and related testing tools

• Review product UI, packaging content, product wording, function names, and customer-facing technical content

• Support Education Software / Simulation Kit testing, including user flow, function logic, test plan, and release notes

• Support Subaru-related database or coverage checking when needed

• Coordinate with software, firmware, hardware, QA, product, and content/video teams

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or final-year student in Automotive Engineering, Automotive Technology, Automotive Electrical-Electronic Systems, or related fields

• Basic understanding of vehicle systems, especially electrical/electronic systems, sensors, actuators, ECU, DTC, Live Data, ABS, SRS, TPMS, battery, and maintenance functions

• Basic understanding of automotive diagnostic tools is a plus

• Basic electrical knowledge: voltage, current, resistance, signal, wiring, connector, ground, fuse, relay, and power supply

• Able to read and understand technical documents, product descriptions, diagrams, and test instructions

• Able to explain technical information clearly and logically

• Able to write clear test reports, issue reports, and technical notes

• Careful, logical, willing to learn, and able to follow test procedures

• Good teamwork and communication skills
