About the role
- Location: 2nd floor, 27C Quoc Huong, An Khanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
- Position type: Full-time
- Salary: Negotiable, based on experience
Responsibilities and duties
1. Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
- Process supplier invoices, employee reimbursements, and intercompany transactions.
- Manage supplier payments, customer receipting, and debtor follow-up.
- Conduct regular bank reconciliations and resolve variances.
2. Financial Reporting & Month-End
- Prepare and post month-end journals including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, payroll, revenue recognition and other recurring adjustments.
- Prepare monthly profit and loss, balance sheet and supporting management reporting schedules.
- Perform detailed review and analysis of financial results, including actual versus budget variance analysis.
- Ensure transactions are appropriately classified across general ledger accounts, departments, cost centres and entities.
3. Balance Sheet & Financial Control
- Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations with appropriate supporting documentation.
- Investigate reconciling items and ensure issues are resolved within agreed timeframes.
- Maintain oversight of key balance sheet accounts including receivables, payables, payroll, GST, fixed assets, provisions, accruals and intercompany balances.
- Assist with maintaining an effective financial control environment across the Group.
- Identify recurring accounting issues, control weaknesses and process gaps and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Maintain appropriate accounting documentation, reconciliations and audit trails.
4. Intercompany & Group Accounting
- Prepare and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances across Group entities.
- Investigate and resolve intercompany discrepancies in collaboration with other Finance team members.
- Assist with consolidation processes and elimination entries.
- Support accounting for new entities, acquisitions, restructures and other changes to the Group structure where required.
5. Management Reporting & Business Partnering
- Work with business stakeholders to understand financial performance, cost drivers and emerging financial issues.
- Prepare financial analysis to support management decision-making.
- Assist department leaders with understanding expenditure, budget performance and financial results.
- Provide clear and concise explanations of financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
Support budgeting, forecasting and other financial planning activities.
6. Tax, Compliance & Audit
- Assist with preparation of BAS, GST, payroll tax, FBT and other regulatory reporting obligations.
- Support preparation of year-end financial statements and statutory reporting requirements.
- Coordinate supporting documentation and respond to requests from external auditors and tax advisers.
7. Systems & Process Improvement
- Support the ongoing development and optimisation of finance systems, reporting tools and processes.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual accounting activities and improve the efficiency of month-end processes.
- Assist with maintaining the integrity of the chart of accounts, entity structure, departments and other financial reporting dimensions.
- Participate in finance transformation, system implementation and integration projects as required.
- Develop standardised procedures and documentation for key Finance processes.
- Escalate issues proactively, clearly identifying the root cause, financial impact and recommended course of action.

- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a financial accountant, assistant accountant or senior bookkeeping role.
- Solid working knowledge of NetSuite or a comparable ERP (Xero experience also considered), with advanced MS Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards and statutory compliance (BAS, GST, payroll tax).
- Demonstrated track record of accuracy, accountability, and initiative in financial operations.
- Exposure to audit support, intercompany reconciliations, and management reporting considered advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight reporting deadlines.
- Maintains a service mindset when supporting internal stakeholders and external stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills with a disciplined approach to reporting deadlines.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise workloads.
