Technical Training Team Leader is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and hands-on coordination of a group of Technical Trainers. The role ensures that assigned onboarding cohorts, practical training sessions, and readiness assessments are delivered on schedule, to standard, and with consistent quality across streams.

This role translates training plans into daily execution. It provides frontline guidance to trainers, monitors cohort progress, resolves day-to-day delivery issues, and ensures learners move smoothly through the training-to readiness journey. Unlike the Technical Training Team Manager (who owns strategy, quality governance, and stakeholder alignment), the Team Leader is deeply operational and remains hands-on — often co-delivering training, coaching trainers in real time, and stepping in to unblock issues.

Roles, Responsibilities & Typical Activities

Daily Training Delivery & Coordination

- Coordinate day-to-day scheduling, room/resource allocation, and trainer assignment for assigned cohorts.

- Ensure training sessions start on time, follow the agreed curriculum and meet quality standards.

- Co-deliver or step into training sessions when needed to maintain continuity.

- Monitor learner attendance, progress and engagement across active batches.

- Act as the first point of contact for day-to-day delivery issues and resolve them promptly.

Trainer Guidance & Support

- Provide hands-on, real-time coaching and guidance to Technical Trainers.

- Support trainers in preparing materials, practical exercises and assessment activities.

- Help new or less-experienced trainers build facilitation and delivery confidence.

- Share practical techniques, feedback, and lessons learned across the trainer group.

Readiness & Assessment Support

- Ensure assessments and readiness checks are conducted consistently and on schedule.

- Consolidate learner performance and readiness data for Team Manager review.

- Flag learners at risk of not meeting readiness criteria early.

- Support role-fit input based on observed learner performance.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

- Ensure training delivery follows agreed standards and the Definition of Ready.

- Collect feedback from learners and trainers and escalate improvement ideas to the Team Manager.

- Support standardization of materials, templates and delivery practices across streams.

Coordination with the Operations teams

- Coordinate with the Operations team to ensure that the General Induction program is up to date and meets expectations.

- Liaise with Operations Team Leaders / Team Managers on cohort readiness and handover timing.

- Support smooth transition of learners from training into operational deployment.

Qualifications / Experience

- 3+ years’ relevant experience

- Qualification in Engineering, Construction, Design, Drafting, Estimating, Structural Design, Training or a related technical discipline.

- Equivalent practical experience in a relevant technical services area may be considered.

- English level (CEFR) B1 or equivalent

- Solid hands-on experience in at least one relevant technical stream (Drafting, Estimating, or Component Structure Design) within a production or services environment.

- Experience guiding, coordinating or mentoring others, e.g., senior staff, team lead, senior trainer or SME (Subject Matter Expert) role.

- Experience delivering or supporting training is strongly preferred.

Technical knowledge and skills

- Strong technical knowledge in the relevant stream, with the ability to demonstrate and explain practical tasks.

- Ability to coordinate schedules, resources and people across concurrent activities.

- Coaching, mentoring and feedback skills.

- Good communication and stakeholder coordination.

- Attention to quality, consistency and readiness standards.

- Comfortable being hands-on while also guiding a small team.
