JOB PURPOSE

The General Accountant is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, managing construction project costs, tracking sub-contractor accounts, ensuring tax compliance, and preparing financial reports in accordance with VAS and company standards

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Project Cost & Inventory Management

Track, allocate, and analyze costs (labor, raw materials, machinery, sub-contractors) per construction project.

Record all costs related to contruction projects in accounting software

Monitor site inventory, reconcile with inventory reports from warehouse keeper and participating in physical counts of inventory.

2. AR/AP & Sub-contractor Accounting

Verify sub-contractor progress billings, advance payments, and retention money against site acceptance records (acceptance certificates).

Issue invoices to project owners based on certified payment milestones.

Track and reconcile accounts receivable (AR) from clients and accounts payable (AP) to suppliers/sub-contractors.

3. General Ledger & Tax Compliance

Record daily financial transactions into the accounting software in compliance with VAS.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual tax declarations (VAT, CIT, PIT, Foreign Contractor Tax) and working papers.

Assist Chief Accountant in tax audits, external audit preparations, and end-of-year financial statements.

4. Financial Reporting & Cash Flow

Assist Chief Accountant in Prepare monthly P&L reports for each construction project and for the company.

Monitor cash flows and assist in preparing weekly/monthly cash flow forecasts.

5. Other tasks assigned by line manager

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Auditing, or Finance.

Experience:

Minimum 2–4 years of experience as a General Accountant or Accounts Payable (AP) Accountant; experience in the construction or real estate industry is highly preferred.

Languages: Good command of writing and reading English.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in accounting software (MISA, FAST, Odoo….) and advanced MS Excel.

Deep understanding of Vietnam Accounting Standards (VAS), tax regulations, and construction cost accounting principles.

Soft Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to work under pressure.
