Mechanical Maintenance Specialist - Consumer goods - Attractive salary package

Job Purpose

Ensure the reliable, safe, and efficient operation of mechanical equipment across the production lines through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Inspect equipment and promptly address mechanical issues during production.

• Perform maintenance and repairs for processing, freezing, filling, and packaging equipment.

• Maintain equipment including pumps, homogenizers, heat exchangers, continuous freezers, filling machines, conveyors, and packaging machines.

• Identify root causes of breakdowns and take corrective actions to minimize unplanned downtime.

2. Preventive Maintenance & Spare Parts

• Plan and carry out weekly, monthly, and annual preventive maintenance.

• Inspect and replace mechanical components such as bearings, seals, chains, gearboxes, valves, and pumps.

• Perform proper cleaning and lubrication using food-grade materials.

• Monitor spare parts, maintain inventory, and update maintenance records.

3. Safety & Coordination

• Follow occupational safety, hygiene, and food safety requirements.

• Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000/FSSC 22000 standards.

• Coordinate with Electrical & Automation, Production, and EHS teams during equipment repair, testing, and commissioning.

4. Improvement & Support

• Recommend equipment improvements to enhance reliability, reduce maintenance costs, and extend equipment life.

• Participate in Kaizen/TPM activities.

• Support operators with basic maintenance and equipment abnormality checks.

• Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or related fields.

• 2–3 years of mechanical maintenance experience in manufacturing.

• Experience in Food, Beverage, or FMCG is preferred.

• Able to read mechanical drawings and pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams.

• Good knowledge of mechanical systems, including gearboxes, pumps, valves, piping, and transmission systems.

• Experience in equipment installation and alignment; TIG/Argon welding is an advantage.

• Proactive, careful, responsible, and safety-conscious.

• Good organizational, multitasking, and reporting skills.
