Technical Assistant (Furniture)

About the Position

We are looking for a Technical Assistant to join our furniture development team.

This is an entry-level position suitable for a recent graduate from a technical school or someone with a few years of experience.

The role supports our product development team by creating and maintaining accurate 3D models, product drawings, and technical documentation for upholstered furniture.

The primary purpose of the drawings is to communicate product details for customer evaluation and approval, and to provide clear product information for our factory partners. The position is not responsible for creating detailed manufacturing or component drawings.

The successful candidate will work closely with our designers, product developers, sample makers, and sales support team throughout the product development process.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain accurate 3D models of upholstered furniture.

• Prepare 2D product drawings for customer review and approval.

• Update drawings and 3D models based on customer feedback and product sample evaluations.

• Document visible product details include:

o Overall dimensions

o Seam layouts

o Stitching patterns

o Piping

o Button placement

o Cushion layouts

o Legs

o Fabric direction

o Other visible product features

• Compare finished products with approved drawings and update documentation where required.

• Prepare technical product documentation for internal product development.

• Maintain organized CAD files, drawing revisions, product documentation and product standards.

• Assist the product development team with general technical documentation tasks.

Qualifications

• Technical school education or similar qualification, and preferred minimum 2 years of relevant experience.

• Basic knowledge of 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Rhino, Fusion 360, or similar.

• Ability to create and update accurate technical drawings.

• Good understanding of dimensions, proportions, and product details.

• Strong attention to detail and a structured way of working.

• Good communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.

• Interest in furniture and product development is an advantage.

• Experience with specifically upholstered furniture is a plus but not required.
