Retail Sales Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY

The Retail Sales Supervisor supports the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in achieving store sales targets while ensuring brand standards in customer service, selling, visual merchandising, and store operations. This role also supports the recruitment, training, and development of Sales Associates and serves as the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager in their absence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Support the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in meeting or exceeding store sales targets.

• Assist the management team by effectively leading the staff to achieve financial, customer service, and merchandising standards through effective product, people, and service planning.

• Act as a Keyholder and share responsibility for opening and closing the store.

• Understand store performance by analyzing reports and key performance indicators (KPIs), including Conversion Rate, Units per Transaction (UPT), Average Transaction Value (ATV), Sell-through, and Rate of Sale.

2. Work with the Store Management team to achieve brand standards in customer service, selling, product presentation, merchandising, and operations.

• Lead by example in effectively building and maintaining customer relationships.

• Lead by example in the execution of operational procedures, tasks, and processes.

• Ensure all cash handling is accurate while facilitating a superior checkout experience.

• Support and provide guidance to store staff, focusing on delivering the required standards of visual merchandising, product presentation, promotional activities, customer service, and sales.

• Recognize product flow opportunities and partner with Store Management and Sales Associates on process improvements.

• Manage back-of-house operations and participate in store cleaning duties where required.

• Partner with Store Management to ensure all visual merchandising directives, promotions, and markdowns are completed in a timely manner.

3. Assist the Store Manager in the training, and development of high-quality team members.

• Supervise store staff under the direction of the Store Manager, ensuring team members are motivated and continuously trained.

• Ensure best practices in staffing by following the schedules and rotas prepared by the Store Manager.

4. Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

• Coordinate with Retail team members and relevant internal departments to ensure clear and timely communication for smooth daily store operations.

• Liaise with suppliers and other external partners as required to support store operations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of retail experience, including experience in coaching, counseling, developing people.

• Tertiary education or an equivalent qualification.

• Good command of written and spoken English.

• Ability to perform basic math calculations.

• Strong communication, delegation, teamwork, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Flexible, proactive, and able to work effectively under pressure.

• Ability to communicate professionally with customers and store personnel.

• Physically able to move around the sales floor, stockroom, and store office, and lift weight up to 30 lbs (13.6 kg).

• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Flexible working evenings, weekends, public holidays, and store opening/closing shifts according to business needs.
