Job summary

This position will be responsible for supporting the SME modules, student tutoring, marketing and student recruitment; developing and managing SME laboratories; and contributing to research proposal development and participating research activities at VGTRC.

Major duties and responsibilities

SME Laboratory Management (50%)

1. Supervise all lab activities to ensure compliance with health and safety instructions and guidelines
2. Ensure the operational safety of the machines, equipment and lab rooms
3. Manage laboratory consumables and purchase requests for minor equipment
4. Providing guidance to students on how to use laboratory facilities in an appropriate and safe manner
5. Preparing plan and contents of tutorials and carrying out tutorials and exercises.
6. Developing, setting up, and conducting laboratory experiments for courses of the study program or other study programs and assess their laboratory reports if required
7. Ensure that all health and safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment.

Research and Teaching Assistance (50%)

1. Support develop the research proposal for grant application and participate in research projects at SME and VGTRC.
2. Supporting and expanding the national and international research collaboration with other institutes, universities, industries, and etc.
3. Assisting in teaching 160AH/year. Assist in the preparation of teaching materials, including lecture notes, assignments, and lab exercises SME modules.
4. Offer guidance and tutoring to students SME modules and student research activities.
5. Assisting students in projects, such as bachelor theses.

Other duties

1. Collaboration and Communication: Foster collaboration between faculty, students, and researchers, promoting effective communication and information sharing.
2. Professional Development: Stay current with advancements in the smart mobility field by attending conferences, workshops, and professional development activities.
3. Assessment and Feedback: Collect and provide feedback from students and researchers to improve the quality of teaching, research, and lab experiences.
4. Cooperating with other laboratory engineers

Position requirements

Qualification

Master’s or Bachelor’s degree (graduated with excellent honors) in Computer Science, Electronics/Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.

Knowledge

Strong knowledge in Computer Science and Electronics/Electrical Engineering, including: programming and software development; data structures and databases; artificial intelligence, machine learning and data analytics; computer networks, cloud computing and cybersecurity; Internet of Things, embedded systems and sensor integration; microcontrollers, electronic circuits, digital signal processing and control systems; communication technologies; and laboratory equipment operation, hardware/software troubleshooting and safe laboratory practices.

Skills

1. Proven professional English writing, speaking, and listening skills. At least equivalent to IELTS 6.0.
2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work effectively in an international/multicultural environment.
5. Project management and organizational skills.

Experience

1. Previous experience in smart mobility/transport work is preferred.
2. Experience in supporting or conducting research projects work is preferred.
3. Experience in academic publication is preferred.
4. Familiarity with teaching or assisting in an academic setting is advantageous.

Vietnamese – German University, Ring Road 4, Thoi An Quarter, Thoi Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City (Old address: Ben Cat City, Binh Duong).

Working time

8:30 – 16:30 Monday - Friday
