- Research & Teaching Assistant in Neural Networks and Deep Learning

- Research & Teaching Assistant in Advanced Deep Learning and Computer Vision

Assisting in teaching, research activities and administrative affairs.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting in teaching 120 AH/academic year, conducted in consultation with the advising lecturer, the study program Academic Coordinator (AC) and the partner university.

• Formulating plan and contents of tutorials and carrying out tutorials and exercises, in cooperation with the advising lecturer; effectively and actively support exam screening, proctoring and marking.

• Maintaining and developing database of lecture slides, examinations and exercises, managed locally and securely, to be uploaded to the VGU e-learning platform when needed.

• Assisting in research, preparing research proposals: working on research project(s) assigned by the supervisor, and assisting in and contributing to the overall research of the research group.

• Co-supervise Bachelor's theses, pairing up with a faculty member from VGU or a partner university.

• Assisting in administration: ensure teaching and research equipment functions effectively; prepare and manage correspondence, documents and reports for research and publication; support flying faculty in implementation of lectures, exercises and practicals; support the program in organizing events such as student recruitment activities, workshops, seminars, STEM events, lab tours, etc.

• Working on own research for PhD (in the next 3 to 5 years), with a clearly planned development orientation and continuous refinement of competencies and academic expertise.

• Contributing to the development and implementation of other course programs in consultation with the program coordinator and the program director, as assigned by the supervisor.

• Supervising of students in their study projects and final theses.

• Presenting of research ideas and results in internal VGU seminars at least once a year.

• Presenting of research ideas and results at scientific conferences: from the second year onwards, at least one national and one international conference.

• Maintaining the homepage of the study program and the intranet platform, working with the designated lab engineer of the CSE program.

• Taking, typing and distributing minutes of meetings.

• Assisting the advising lecturer and the program coordinator to organize and coordinate the internal and external events (meetings, conferences, research seminars, mini courses, open campus).

• Proctor for exams of all study programs, if required.

• Implementing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualification

Qualification: Master's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, Computing Engineering, Electronics Engineering or any related disciplines.

Knowledge: Good knowledge in the foundation of computing, advanced machine learning, neural networks, language processing and computer vision.

Skills:

• English: A minimum IELTS score of 6.0 is required (6.5 or higher is preferred). Candidates who did not graduate from a university in a non-native English-speaking country must submit a valid English proficiency certificate.

• Programming: Python, C++, Pytorch

• Ability to work independently and proactively

• Effective interpersonal communication

Experience: Experience in teaching and mentoring is preferred. Prior research experience is a plus, specifically in data engineering, manuscript writing, and conducting experiments. Industry experience is preferred.
