Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented

Chief Accountant to join our newly established manufacturing operation in Vietnam. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring full compliance with VAS and IFRS and local tax regulations, and contributing to the development of our in-house accounting department. This role requires mandatory proficiency in the MISA AMIS software system as well as ORACLE NETSUITE and fluency in English to communicate effectively with the foreign management team.

Key Responsibilities

• Accounting Operations & Compliance
• Execute and maintain full-cycle accounting processes, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), general ledger, and journal entries, using the MISA AMIS accounting software and NETSUITE.
• Perform daily and monthly bank and cash reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded in NETSUITE and MISA.
• Manage fixed assets, inventory, and cost of goods sold (COGS) in compliance with the Weighted Average Method of Inventory Valuation and Straight-Line Depreciation Method for Fixed Assets.
• Assist in setting up and mapping the local accounting system, including the Chart of Accounts (COA) based on Circular 200/2014/TT-BTC.
• Tax & Reporting
• Connect, monitor, review file all monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory tax reports (VAT, PIT, CIT, FCT, etc.) in accordance with prevailing Vietnamese Tax Laws and compliance deadlines from accounting firm.
• Review and finalize statutory financial statements according to Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS) and IFRS.
• Provide support and documentation for external and internal audit engagements.
• Draft management reports (P&L, Balance Sheet) to Group CFO and other foreign management in English.
• Administration & Other
• Maintain and organize all accounting records, supporting documents, and tax filings.
• Liaise with external parties, including accounting service providers (Grant Thornton) and tax authorities, as needed.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes as the company transitions to a fully in-house accounting function.
• A. Experience & Education
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a General Accountant, preferably in a manufacturing or trading environment.
• Chief Accountant Certification
• Proven experience and proficiency in using MISA accounting software and ORACLE NETSUITE.
• Mandatory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in overseas transfer pricing.
• Experience preparing and submitting reports to the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV).
• B. Skills & Knowledge
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS)and IFRS and current local tax regulations.
• Fluent in English (both written and verbal) to facilitate daily communication with foreign management and reporting.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail, high level of accuracy, and ability to meet strict deadlines.
