Understanding the Role

This is primarily a packaging production position, not a traditional creative design role.

Approximately 90% of the work involves executing and refining existing artwork, templates, dielines, specifications, and customer requirements to create accurate, production-ready packaging.

While creativity and design expertise are valued, success in this position depends on technical precision, attention to detail, and the ability to consistently execute artwork that meets established brand standards, retailer guidelines, and production requirements.

We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys the technical execution side of packaging design and takes pride in getting every detail right.

What You'll Do

As our Packaging Production Artist, you'll work closely with Creative, Marketing, Product Development, and Sales teams to ensure packaging artwork moves efficiently from development through final production.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Execute production-ready packaging artwork: Create, revise, and finalize packaging files for a variety of consumer products, brands, and U.S. retail programs using existing designs, templates, dielines, and specifications.

Manage technical production requirements: Prepare accurate, print-ready files using Adobe Illustrator and other Adobe Creative Suite applications while adhering to established prepress standards and production specifications.

Ensure packaging accuracy and compliance: Carefully review English-language packaging copy, product information, formatting, layout, retailer requirements, and applicable U.S. packaging and labeling standards.

Collaborate with international teams: Work closely with U.S.-based colleagues and production partners to incorporate feedback, resolve artwork challenges, and ensure files meet customer and manufacturing requirements.

Manage multiple projects and deadlines: Organize production files, track revisions, prioritize competing assignments, and ensure projects move efficiently through approval and final release.

Identify and resolve production issues: Proactively recognize artwork inconsistencies, technical concerns, and potential compliance issues before files are released for production.

Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Packaging Design, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant professional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

2–4 years of experience in packaging production art, graphic production, prepress, or a related discipline preferred.

Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.

Hands-on experience working with packaging artwork, dielines, production templates, and print-ready files.

Solid understanding of print production processes, prepress requirements, and packaging specifications.

Knowledge of U.S. packaging compliance, labeling standards, and regulatory requirements, or a demonstrated willingness and ability to actively learn and apply these requirements through on-the-job training.

Strong English reading, writing, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to accurately interpret detailed packaging instructions, technical specifications, and customer requirements.

Ability to carefully review English-language packaging copy, including product descriptions, warnings, instructions, and labeling information.

Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to identify inconsistencies and errors in artwork and production files.

Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Ability to work independently while communicating and collaborating effectively with international teams.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
