Position Title: Manager, Manufacturing Engineering

Location: Thang Long Industrial Zone, Thien Loc Commune, Hanoi.

Report to: Manufacturing Engineering Manager, Vietnam 

MOLEX, a brand under Koch Industries, headquartered in Lisle, Illinois (USA), is one of the world’s leading interconnect solution providers.

Molex Vietnam has operated its first factory at Thang Long Industrial Park I since 2007. Currently, Molex is investing in a new factory complex located at Thang Long Industrial Park II in Hung Yen Province. The project has a total investment of approximately USD 145 million, covering an area of 100,000 m² and being developed in three phases. This facility will manufacture high-tech products such as high-speed cables, connectors, optical devices, and liquid cooling solutions.

Your Role

Lead Manufacturing Engineering activities for Hanoi Plant under the direction of the Vietnam Manufacturing Engineering Manager. Ensure NPI, transfer, equipment, process and mass-production improvement projects are delivered safely, on time and with the required quality, cost and productivity performance. 

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead Hanoi Plant ME. 

• Manage priorities, workload, KPI and daily execution for the Hanoi ME team. 

• Align plans, resources, risks and escalation with the Vietnam ME Manager. 

2. Deliver NPI and transfer projects. 

• Coordinate DFM, process design, tooling/equipment readiness, trial, qualification and production handover. 

• Maintain project timing, 4M readiness, action tracking and risk mitigation. 

3. Ensure process and equipment readiness. 

• Confirm process flow, PFMEA, work instructions, capacity and line-layout readiness. 

• Coordinate machine, tooling, fixture, tester and automation buyoff, installation and qualification. 

4. Support mass production and continuous improvement. 

• Lead resolution of critical process and equipment issues. 

• Improve safety, quality, yield, productivity, uptime and manufacturing cost. 

5. Manage investment and suppliers. 

• Prepare technical inputs for RFQ, CAPEX/PAR and equipment selection. 

• Control supplier technical deliverables, lead time, acceptance criteria and recovery actions. 

6. Build team capability. 

• Coach engineers and technicians, clarify responsibilities and develop technical skills. 

• Support recruitment, onboarding and succession planning. 

7. Drive cross-functional execution. 

• Work with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, EHS and global engineering teams. 

• Provide clear status, risks and support requests to management. 

8. Ensure compliance. 

• Follow company requirements for EHS, machine safety, quality systems, asset control and information security. 

9. Perform other related duties assigned by management. 

Scope: Plant-level ME management role for Hanoi. Responsible for local engineering execution and team performance. Major resource, investment and cross-plant priorities are aligned with the Vietnam Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automation, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field. 

Required:

• Minimum 7 years of manufacturing engineering experience, including experience leading engineers, technicians or cross-functional projects. 

• Hands-on experience in NPI, transfer, process/equipment development or production improvement. 

• Good leadership, planning, coaching and cross-functional coordination skills. 

• Working knowledge of DFM, PFMEA, process qualification, capacity, tooling, automation and equipment buyoff. 

• Practical problem-solving and continuous-improvement capability. 

• Ability to manage multiple priorities, risks, suppliers and project schedules. 

• Good English communication and presentation skills. 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; high ownership, integrity and willingness to learn. 

Preferred:

• Experience in electronics, connectors, cable assembly, molding, stamping, optical or high-precision manufacturing. 

• Experience working with global teams or equipment suppliers. 

Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma, project management, SAP/ERP or factory systems is an advantage.
