Summary

• The Legal Executive assists the Legal Counsel in providing legal and compliance support to Sonion Vietnam and, where assigned, Sonion Global. The position supports the review of contracts, agreements and other legal documents involving customers, business partners, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• This position works under the assignment, guidance and supervision of the Legal Counsel. It supports risk mitigation by preparing preliminary legal reviews, maintaining legal records, monitoring assigned compliance matters and escalating material legal or compliance risks for further review.

Duties

• Under the assignment of the Legal Counsel, the position is responsible for the following duties:
• Review and propose revisions to contracts, agreements and other legal documents within the assigned scope.
• Conduct legal research and prepare preliminary legal assessments on general legal, contractual and business matters for review by the Legal Counsel.
• Assist in developing, implementing and maintaining legal and compliance policies, procedures, programmes, guidance notes and related records.
• Assist with licensing matters, including preparing, submitting and following up on applications and supporting documents with relevant authorities.
• Support legal and compliance communication and training activities for managers and employees.
• Monitor relevant changes in laws and regulations and report potential impact to the Legal Counsel.
• Maintain legal and compliance documentation to ensure records are accurate, up to date and readily accessible.
• Promptly escalate material legal or compliance risks and propose appropriate options within the assigned scope.
• Perform other legal and compliance duties as assigned by the Legal Counsel.

1. Education

Bachelor’s degree in Law.

Preferable

Lawyer Practising Certificate or equivalent legal professional qualification.

2. Professional knowledge of

Contract drafting and review, general corporate legal matters, compliance requirements, legal research and documentation management.

3. Knowledge of computer servicing

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to maintain electronic legal and compliance records.

4. Languages

Good communication in English (speaking & writing)

5. Professional experience

• 3-4 years of legal experience gained in a law firm, an in-house legal department or a combination of both.
• Prefered: Experience in an international company or manufacturing environment.
