About the role

You will lead one production shift at our cement grinding station (about 500,000 tonnes of cement a year). Your shift covers grinding, packing, dispatch and plant logistics, and you are responsible for hitting volume, quality and delivery targets with zero harm. Outside office hours, you act as the on-site plant manager.

Key responsibilities

• Health, Safety & Environment: Make sure employees, contractors and visitors follow INSEE’s QEHS rules. Carry out safety observations (SOT/TO/EOT) and keep the workplace tidy. Lead the Emergency Response Team if an incident happens on your shift.
• Production control: Supervise CCR operation so equipment runs at the best feed rate. Use the shift’s resources to get the most cement dispatched. Troubleshoot breakdowns and get the plant running again quickly. Find root causes of problems with quality, feed rate or energy use.
• Quality control: Monitor cement quality during the shift and adjust operating parameters to stay within QA specs. Coordinate equipment calibration with Maintenance and follow up trials of new additives.
• Coordination & reporting: Run shift handovers and send the daily reports (DWOR, STOR). Work with Supply Chain on inbound raw materials and outbound products. Track progress and work quality during plant shutdowns.
• People leadership: Set and track team KPIs for 3 direct reports in a section of 18. Coach operators and run multi-skill training and job rotation.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Chemistry, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• At least 3 years’ experience in the cement industry or another heavy industry (e.g. steel, power, chemicals, building materials)
• At least 2 years in a production supervisory role
• Able to work rotating shifts
• English at about TOEIC 500 level
• MS Office; SAP knowledge is an advantage
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, and able to stay calm when an emergency happens on shift
