About Us

Shoefabrik Vietnam is partnered with SOLK, a Swiss-based sustainable footwear venture, to establish a new state-of-the-art premium manufacturing facility. Our factory is designed to handle biocircular sneakers for SOLK, high performance footwear for select global brand partners, and highly specialized sampling and prototyping for Shoefabrik Vietnam. The factory will be a hub for innovation, premium craftsmanship, product trials, component testing, and small-batch runs – combining modern technology with responsible manufacturing practices.

Role Summary

The Factory Manager will be responsible for overseeing all manufacturing operations, from factory setup and layout optimization to workforce development, production planning, sampling, and delivery. This role requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on leadership, ensuring operational excellence while staying aligned with both Shoefabrik’s and SOLK’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and premium quality standards.

The ideal candidate brings deep footwear manufacturing expertise, thrives in start-up factory environments, and is passionate about building efficient, agile, and modern production systems.

Key Responsibilities

Job-Specific Duties

• Lead the setup of the new facility, including equipment specification, installation, and factory layout design for optimal material flow and operator efficiency.

• Continuously review factory setup to maximize productivity, quality, sustainability performance, and operator well-being.

• Oversee production planning and execution for:

o SOLK sneakers (DTC premium production).

o Performance footwear production for external brand partners.

o Shoefabrik Vietnam sampling, trials, and salesmen samples.

• Monitor and control key production KPIs: yield, quality rejects, efficiency, downtime, and labour utilization.

• Build and enforce premium quality assurance systems tailored for luxury and sustainable footwear.

• Ensure compliance with international labour, safety, and environmental standards.

• Recruit, train, and mentor operators, supervisors, and technical teams, fostering a culture of craftsmanship and accountability.

• Act as a bridge between product development, R&D, innovation teams, and production floors.

• Collaborate on trials of new materials, processes, and technologies.

• Manage factory P&L, operating budgets, and capital expenditure.

• Provide strategic input on automation opportunities, long-term growth, and continuous improvement.

Non-Job-Specific Duties

• Devote full time and attention to the Company’s business, using best efforts to promote its interests.

• Comply with all lawful instructions from management and Company regulations.

• Work for the Company and its affiliates anywhere within the assigned work location or elsewhere as required.

• Carry out responsibilities in the specified capacity or in another role reasonably required by the Company, aligned with skills and experience.

• Refrain from engaging in any other business or occupation without prior written approval.

• At all times observe and respect the laws and customs of Vietnam and any other jurisdictions where duties are performed.

• Maintain STRICT CONFIDENTIALITY of Company information, intellectual property, and trade secrets, both during and after employment.

• Protect Company property, documents, and data, returning all materials upon termination.

• Support Company policies regarding data protection, health & safety, diversity & inclusion, and sustainability initiatives.

Experience & Skills

• 10+ years in footwear manufacturing management, with at least 5 years in a Factory Manager or senior leadership role.

• Proven expertise in premium footwear, sustainable materials, and specialty prototyping/sampling.

• Demonstrated success in factory setup, expansion, or transformation projects.

• Strong knowledge of footwear construction, pattern engineering, material trials, and sample room operations.

• Skilled in implementing lean/continuous improvement methodologies.

• Strong financial and operational acumen.

• Fluent in English (mandatory); Vietnamese, Mandarin or other languages a plus.
