Job description

We are looking for Middle/Senior Software Developers to join the Core Banking team at Shinhan Bank Vietnam. The candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing Core Banking applications and related banking systems, ensuring system stability, performance, and compliance with banking regulations.

The role will collaborate closely with business teams and project members to support loan banking modules and card-related services.

2. Key Responsibilities

Core Banking Development

• Maintain and enhance backend services of the Core Banking System. 
• Analyze and resolve bugs, incidents, and performance issues in production and non-production environments. 
• Perform database query tuning and optimize system performance. 
• Write and maintain technical documentation (design documents, API specifications, release notes). 
• Participate in code reviews and ensure development standards are followed. 
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to deliver stable and secure solutions. 
• Submit progress reports and support issue tracking activities. 
• Comply with security policies and change management procedures. 

Depending on project assignments, candidates may work on Core Banking modules related to Loan Banking Services or Card Systems.

Banking Business Development (Loan Modules)

• Design and develop end-to-end lending systems 
• Implement credit scoring, rating models, and limit management
• Digitalize lending workflows (application, underwriting, approval hierarchy)
• Manage loan lifecycle (interest, schedules, overdue, restructuring)
• Develop loan products (term loan, revolving, credit line)
• Ensure compliance with credit policies and regulations

Card System Development

• Develop and maintain card-related services and transaction systems. 
• Handle card lifecycle management: 
  • Issuance 
  • Activation  
  • Debit/Credit processing 
• Support transaction processing: 
  • Clearing 
  • Settlement  
  • Reconciliation  
• Ensure compliance with banking regulations and international standards such as PCI DSS and ISO 8583.

Your Skills and Experience

Technical Requirements

• Experience in developing main services using C-based frameworks
• Proficiency in building terminal/screen interfaces with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript 
• Strong knowledge of database design and management using Oracle SQL/PLSQL
• Experience working in Linux/Unix-based operating environments
• Ability to ensure system performance, stability, and scalability. 

4. Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks. 
• Proactive, responsible, and detail-oriented mindset. 
• Good written communication skills in English. 

5. General Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience (senior level). 
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks. 
• Experience in financial services or banking IT systems.
• Knowledge of banking protocols (ISO 8583, SWIFT, etc.).
• Familiarity with Napas 247, eWallet, and SBV reporting. 
• Knowledge of security standards and compliance requirements.
