The Area Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of multiple facilities or locations within a specified geographical area. This role ensures that all sites are running efficiently and effectively, meeting the company’s operational standards, and achieving financial targets.

Key Responsibilities: Manage operation of around 6 – 8 stores.

1. Store operations Maximize store revenue: Enable best store Manager

• Manage and train store managers.

• Ensure employment and adequate staffing of stores.

• Carry out checking program with focus on revenue maximization:

➢ Product availability

➢ Price signage

➢ Planogram

• Check execution of marketing measures.

2. Store Operations Cost Control:

• Carry out store inventory counts.

• Control (and/or approve) product write offs or price reductions.

• Review every week the store manager’s staff planning.

• Sign off costs.

3. Store operations financial control

• Day ends – total store cash balance to be checked at every store visit.

• Bank transfers to be checked at every visit.

4. Management tasks

1. Lead the store managers:

• Advise, provide guidance.

• Assess the Store Managers.

• Strengths/ Weaknesses.

2. Enable the store managers:

• Area Managers is the voice of the company.

• Employ adequate staff.

• Provide support for anything that contributes to the store’s success.

3. Cost control revenue supervision:

• Accountable for costs (not revenue or margin)

• Check- program.

• Inventory counts.

4. Staff Management:

• Recruit, train, and develop store managers and staff to maintain high performance and morale.

• Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to store managers.

• Foster a positive and inclusive work environment.

5. Inventory and Supply Chain Management:

• Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels in each store.

• Coordinate with the supply chain team to manage stock replenishment and distribution.

• Implement loss prevention measures to minimize shrinkage and theft.

6. Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure all stores comply with health, safety, and legal regulations.

• Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to company policies and standards.

• Address any compliance or safety issues immediately.

7. Budget Management:

• Prepare and manage operational budgets for each store.

• Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures where possible.

• Report on financial performance and budget adherence.

1. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written English

2. Strong leadership and team management skills.

3. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

4. Proven track record of achieving sales targets and improving operational efficiencies.

5. Proficiency in MS Office and retail management software.

6. Ability to travel frequently within the designated region.
