Senior Sourcing Merchandiser – Export Food, Seafood, Fruit (English Speaking)

This role serves as an important bridge connecting the supply chain, sales, and marketing in the FOOD INDUSTRY, responsible for ensuring that the product mix accurately meets consumer demands and achieves the company's operational objectives.

• Plan, develop, manage, and optimize the company's food product assortment, covering both private label and/or agency brands.

• Conduct market analysis, sales forecasting, and inventory management to ensure a balance between product supply and demand, maximizing sales, profits, and market share.

• Work closely with procurement, sales, marketing, supply chain, and suppliers to ensure smooth execution of each phase from product concept to shelf placement.

• Thorough understanding of the competitive landscape, consumer trends, channel characteristics, and regulatory environment of the food market.

• Sourcing suitable suppliers based on customer’s inquiry and orders.

• Being expertise in product development, costing, production planning, work with clients,suppliers, and production factory.

• Conducting market’s trend to survey and develop new product.

• Develop new products and propose to customer to meet sales target and quotation.

• Negotiate on purchasing terms and cost with vendors/suppliers to meet buyer’s requirement.

• Independently dealing with Customer and Vendor/factory

• Evaluate and select potential suppliers by reviewing capability and facility.

• Monitor on-time delivery and leverage vendor’s performance and product quality.

• Product presentation through samples and display to buyers during their visits

• Sourcing, making offers and preparing an itinerary for buyers.

• Evaluate samples and conduct pre-production meetings.

• Other works as assigned from line manager.

• Around 5 years of Merchandiser, Product Planner, Procurement (must have product planning capabilities), or related positions with practical experience in food retail (such as supermarkets, hypermarkets, convenience stores), food manufacturers, food importers/distributors

• Possess deep experience in specific food categories (e.g., fruit, fresh produce, frozen foods, refrigerated dairy/meat, snacks, beverages, condiments, baked goods, etc.), familiar with market dynamics, supply chain characteristics, and consumer behavior of those categories.

• A university degree in related fields such as Business Administration (Management, Marketing, International Trade), Food Science, Agriculture and Product Marketing is preferred.

• Proficiency in English (listening, speaking, reading, writing)

• Good communication in Chinese is a plus
