KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Take responsibility for product engineering and development, ensuring that products meet customer requirements, are technically feasible for manufacturing, achieve quality standards, and optimize raw material costs.

Act as the key technical liaison between customers/the Netherlands Sales team, the Design team, and partner factories.

1. Product Development & Technical Consultation

Work directly with customers and the Sales team in the Netherlands to receive, analyze, and clarify technical requirements relating to product designs and samples.

Propose solutions for product design, structure, materials, and manufacturing methods to ensure customer requirements are met while maintaining production feasibility.

Collaborate with the R&D team to develop and finalize products, assess technical feasibility during the sampling process, and support the resolution of technical issues before mass production.

2. Product Engineering & Design Optimization

Review and directly develop or modify 2D technical drawings and 3D models, ensuring accuracy in dimensions, structures, specifications, and manufacturing and assembly feasibility.

Analyze and recommend design and structural improvements to optimize material usage and reduce material waste while maintaining product durability, functionality, quality, and appearance.

Provide technical advice to the R&D team on material properties, product structures, and suitable manufacturing methods.

3. BOM Accuracy & Material Optimization

Prepare and/or review Bills of Materials (BOMs), ensuring accuracy in material types, specifications, and consumption rates based on actual product designs.

Analyze material consumption standards, identify discrepancies, and recommend adjustments to minimize waste and optimize material costs.

Work with partner factories and relevant departments to verify and update BOMs and material consumption standards whenever there are changes to product designs or structures.

4. Factory Technical Support & Improvement

Provide technical consultation and work closely with technical teams at partner factories to resolve technical issues during sampling and mass production, while recommending improvements to product quality and production efficiency.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in Product Engineering, Product Development, or Technical Engineering within the outdoor furniture industry.
• Good command of English, with the ability to communicate directly and confidently on technical matters with customers and the Sales team in the Netherlands.
• Hands-on experience working in outdoor furniture manufacturing facilities.
• Strong knowledge of materials, product structures, manufacturing processes, and fabrication and assembly methods for outdoor furniture.
• Practical experience in product development, sampling, BOM preparation/review, and material consumption optimization.
• Ability to read, develop, and review 2D technical drawings and 3D models; proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent software.
• Strong technical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to collaboration, technical consultation, and providing practical and effective solutions.
