ROLE OVERVIEW

ODM Group is seeking an experienced Senior Merchandiser to join our Vietnam team, leading the coordination between Vietnam commercial teams and China/Vietnam manufacturing partners.

This role heavily focuses on end-to-end product development, technical feasibility assessment, design-to-production translation, and cross-border factory coordination, driving custom OEM projects across promotional products, POSM, apparel, and hard goods/soft goods accessories from early concept to final manufacturing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1/ End-to-End Product Development & Technical Execution

• Lead product development cycles with factory engineers and suppliers from ideation to mass production, evaluating materials, structure, tooling, surface treatments, and technical compliance.
• Proactively collaborate with the China Production Team to ensure technical alignment, streamline cross-border communication, and mitigate potential manufacturing risks prior to mass production.
• Translate creative design concepts into commercially viable, manufacturable product specs and Tech Packs in collaboration with internal design teams and factory engineers.
• Evaluate complex technical feasibility, tooling requirements, material constraints, MOQs, development lead times, and target cost structures early in the product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with factories to improve product quality and cost efficiency
• Manage prototyping and rapid sampling iterations, performing detailed sample evaluation, structural testing, quality review, and technical feedback consolidation.
• Stay updated on materials and production techniques, including sustainable options

2/ Sourcing & Supplier Management (Execution Focus)

• Assist in identifying and onboarding suitable manufacturers
• Support the execution of project timelines and follow up on production milestones
• Monitor production progress and flag potential delays or issues to senior stakeholders
• Maintain communication with suppliers to ensure smooth order execution
• Support cost analysis and pricing discussions with guidance
• Track supplier performance and escalate issues when needed

3/ Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Design, Marketing, Partnerships, Client teams, and the China production team to support product development and sourcing activities
• Assist in RFQ preparation by gathering technical and cost-related information
• Communicate updates clearly in English across teams

4/ Client & Business Support

• Provide timely and solution-oriented support to internal teams and clients
• Assist in identifying product improvement opportunities
• Support commercial initiatives such as upselling and product enhancements

●​ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Marketing, or a related field.

●​ 6+ years of hands-on experience in product development, technical merchandising, industrial sourcing, or OEM project management within promotional products, POSM, or consumer goods, with proven, direct experience sourcing and developing products in both China and Vietnam

●​ Must be fluent in English (both verbal and written).

●​ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with business acumen.

●​ Cost analysis / Price negotiation skill.

●​ Strong network in the manufacturing field (mainly production in gift items, POS, apparel, accessories…).Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and industry contacts.

●​ Proven expertise in technical product specs, material selection, prototyping, tooling/molding processes, and mass manufacturing workflows.

●​ Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

●​ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple projects effectively.
