Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced ERP Backend Software Engineer with strong domain expertise in accounting and financial workflows. In this role, you will design, develop, and customize core ERP modules—with a primary focus on financial operations such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, multi-currency handling, tax compliance, and period-end closing. You will architect robust, secure, and scalable backend solutions, integrate third-party services, and ensure high transaction consistency and auditability across complex business workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• ERP Accounting Module Development: Design, customize, and extend ERP modules covering General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), tax handling (VAT/WHT), and financial reporting (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
• System Integration: Build and maintain reliable integrations with third-party platforms, including payment gateways, banking APIs, local tax platforms, marketplaces, and 3PL logisticians.
• Architecture & Backend Engineering: Apply Clean Architecture, Design Patterns, Event-Driven, and Microservices principles to build high-performance RESTful, GraphQL, or gRPC APIs and message-driven workflows (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
• Data Integrity & Database Optimization: Implement double-entry bookkeeping logic, maintain immutable audit trails, and optimize relational/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB) for complex financial transactions.
• Security & Performance: Enforce web security best practices (OWASP), role-based access control (RBAC/SoD), and performance tuning for high reliability.

Your Skills and Experience

ERP:

Solid understanding of core accounting principles: General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), journal entries, and financial reconciliation.

• Experience developing or customizing ERP Accounting modules — including chart of accounts, multi-currency, tax handling (VAT/WHT), and period-end closing.
• Familiarity with accounting workflows: purchase-to-pay (P2P), order-to-cash (O2C), and financial reporting (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
• Understanding of data integrity requirements in financial systems: audit trails, double-entry bookkeeping, and transactional consistency.
• Experience with ERP platforms with strong accounting capabilities: Odoo Accounting, SAP FI, Microsoft D365 Finance, or ERPNext is a strong plus.

ERP Domain Knowledge (General)

• Understanding of at least one additional ERP domain: SCM, Manufacturing, HRM, or Logistics.
• Experience integrating ERP systems with third-party platforms (payment gateway, banking APIs, tax systems, marketplace, 3PL).
• Familiarity with core ERP concepts: Master Data, BOM, MRP, Inventory valuation, Order lifecycle.

Software Design Principles

• OOP, Design Patterns

Database Experience

• MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis
• Schema design, query optimization, indexing, performance tuning

Hands-on Experience

• RESTful API, GraphQL API, or gRPC API development
• WebSocket / Server-sent events
• Git, Docker, CI/CD pipelines
• Unit testing frameworks: pytest, unittest
• Message queues: RabbitMQ, Kafka, Azure Service Bus

Strong understanding of backend security and performance best practices.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Frappe Framework / ERPNext (Accounting module preferred).
• Knowledge of Vietnamese accounting standards (VAS) or localization requirements.
• Packaging & distribution experience: seed data, licensing/subscriptions, install wizards.
• Integration with datamart/reporting systems: ClickHouse, Metabase, Power BI.
• Strong understanding of web security (OWASP ASVS), RBAC/SoD, object-level permission models.
