Detailed description of tasks and responsibilities:

1. Procurement Strategy, Carrier & Capacity Management

• Develop and execute HCMC Sea Freight procurement strategy, aligned with regional/global direc-tion and business objectives.

• Lead carrier and co-loader management, including strategic partnerships, rate negotiations, alloca-tions and performance management.

• Secure competitive rates and sustainable capacity, optimizing allocations and cargo flow to support service reliability and business growth.

• Monitor market and trade-lane developments and translate market intelligence into procurement and capacity decisions.

2. Pricing, Tender & Business Development

• Lead Sea Freight pricing and tender/RFQ activities, ensuring competitive costing, commercial via-bility and target margins.

• Partner with Sales and KAM to develop customer solutions, retain existing volumes and win new Sea Freight business.

• Translate procurement advantages into commercial opportunities, balancing cost, capacity, service and profitability.

• Provide commercial and market insights to support key customer decisions and business growth.

3. Performance, Governance & Continuous Improvement

• Manage procurement KPIs, buying competitiveness, margin, capacity and volume development.

• Ensure accurate rate management, data and procurement processes.

• Monitor performance and implement corrective actions.

• Drive cross-functional process and profitability improvements.

4. Team Leadership & Management

• Lead, coach and develop the procurement/development team.

• Set objectives, priorities and performance expectations.

• Prepare management reports and market updates.

• Support strategic projects and ensure compliance with company policies.

Qualification Standards:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.

• Minimum 5 years of Sea Freight / ocean freight experience, with strong exposure to procurement, pricing, carrier management or product development; prior team leadership or supervisory experience is preferred.

• Strong network and proven ability to negotiate and maintain productive relationships with shipping lines, co-loaders and logistics partners.

• Solid understanding of FCL/LCL products, consolidation, rate structures, surcharges, capacity/allocation management and key ocean trade-lane dynamics.

• Strong commercial mindset with demonstrated ability to balance competitiveness, service quality, capacity and profitability.

• Experience in tenders/RFQs, pricing governance, market analysis and performance/KPI management.

• Leadership capability with the ability to coach, prioritize, make decisions and drive cross-functional execution.

• Strong analytical, negotiation, stakeholder-management and problem-solving skills; proactive and solution oriented.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; able to communicate effectively with local and international stakeholders.

• Well organized, detail oriented and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
