ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced Planning & Purchasing Manager to take a strategic leadership role in shaping and strengthening our company’s planning and procurement functions.
This is more than an operational management position. You will work closely with the Management Board to develop business plans, manage budgets, optimize procurement costs, strengthen supplier strategies, and improve operational efficiency across the organization.
The role is ideal for an experienced manager who is ready to bring their expertise to a broader scope — with the autonomy to make decisions, build systems, lead people, and create measurable business impact.
YOUR IMPACT
• Strategic Influence: Contribute directly to company-wide planning, resource allocation and operational strategy.
• Decision-Making: Take ownership of planning, procurement, budgeting and cost optimization initiatives.
• Leadership: Lead and develop the Planning & Purchasing team, building a high-performing and accountable function.
• System Building: Drive process improvement and build scalable planning and procurement systems.
• Management Exposure: Work closely with senior leadership and provide data-driven recommendations for key business decisions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Strategic Planning & Business Alignment
• Develop and execute long-term and annual planning strategies aligned with the company’s business objectives.
• Lead the development, review and implementation of departmental plans, ensuring they are realistic, measurable and aligned with overall business priorities.
• Analyze business needs, resources and operational data to identify opportunities, challenges and areas for improvement.
• Provide strategic recommendations to the Management Board to support effective decision-making.
2. Budget Management & Cost Optimization
• Develop, manage and monitor budgets across relevant functions.
• Control budget utilization and identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency.
• Lead cost optimization initiatives while maintaining quality, compliance and operational continuity.
• Provide management with regular analysis of budget performance and key financial indicators.
3. Procurement & Supplier Management
• Develop and oversee strategic procurement plans based on business and operational requirements.
• Lead supplier selection, evaluation, development and performance management.
• Manage purchasing activities, negotiations and contract compliance.
• Monitor supplier performance, cost, quality and delivery timelines.
• Identify and mitigate supply risks and develop contingency plans when necessary.
• Continuously explore opportunities to improve procurement efficiency and strengthen the company’s supplier network.
4. Performance Management & Management Reporting
• Establish and monitor KPIs for the Planning & Purchasing function.
• Analyze performance results, identify gaps and drive corrective actions.
• Prepare management reports and provide insights and recommendations to the Management Board.
• Ensure planning and procurement performance contributes to the company’s overall business objectives.
5. Team Leadership & Capability Building
• Lead, coach and develop the Planning & Purchasing team.
• Define responsibilities, establish performance expectations and ensure effective execution.
• Build a proactive, accountable and collaborative team culture.
• Develop team capabilities and succession potential to support long-term organizational growth.
6. Process Improvement & Risk Management
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives across planning, procurement, reporting and monitoring processes.
• Review existing workflows and identify opportunities for standardization, efficiency and better internal control.
• Identify operational and procurement risks and implement preventive measures.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration to improve overall organizational efficiency.
7. Compliance & Documentation
• Oversee company licenses, permits, registrations, renewals and relevant regulatory documentation within the assigned scope.
• Coordinate with relevant authorities and internal stakeholders to ensure documentation is accurate, valid and completed on time.
• Ensure activities under the assigned scope comply with applicable regulations and company policies.
Age: Preference will be given to candidates born in 1985 or Age: Preference will be given to candidates born in 1985 or later Education • Bachelor’s degree or above in Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, Operations Management or a related field. • Master’s degree is an advantage. Professional Experience • 7–10 years of professional experience in Planning, Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations or a related management function. • Proven experience in a managerial or team leadership role. • Strong track record in strategic planning, budget management, procurement and cost optimization. • Demonstrated experience in supplier management, process improvement and performance management. • Experience working in a Korean company or Korean management environment is preferred. • Preferred candidates with experience working at consulting firms • Experience in the healthcare/medical industry is preferred.
